Luxury Spa Hotels in Mallorca: 12 Selected and Ranked

Axel Hernborg· 29 August 2026

In short: Twelve luxury spa hotels in Mallorca, each with a genuine spa operation and strong guest scores. Choose Son Brull for the monastery estate with the highest score in our selection (9.7), Es Príncep for Palma's best city spa, Pleta de Mar for adults-only seaside seclusion — or Zafiro Palace Alcudia if the family is coming too.

Mallorca has quietly become perhaps the Mediterranean's best spa island. The range runs from monastery estates in the Tramuntana to rooftop spas in Palma's old town — and competition has pushed quality upward across the field. Here are our selected luxury spa hotels on the island, ranked and explained.

We have been strict in the selection: every hotel below has a genuine spa operation with treatments (a gym with a sauna does not count), at least four stars and strong guest scores. The figures shown against each hotel are counted from real guest reviews — never estimated.

How we ranked these hotels

The order rests on guest scores from Booking and Google, the counted review themes from our review analyses (shown against the hotels), and how central the spa experience is to the whole — a hotel where the spa is the heart ranks above one where it is an add-on. Under every hotel we explain why it sits where it sits.

Where on Mallorca should a spa traveller stay?

Palma's old town (Es Príncep, El Llorenç, Sant Francesc, Can Bordoy, Nobis) suits those pairing spa time with restaurants and city life — everything within walking distance, no hire car needed. Rural estates and fincas (Son Brull, Son Net, Finca Serena, Carrossa) are the retreat options: total stillness, their own gardens and Tramuntana or olive-grove views, but plan on a hire car. The coast offers Pleta de Mar at Canyamel for adults-only seclusion, Portixol for harbour life with sea swimming, and Zafiro Palace Alcudia for families who want the spa within the resort walls.

From Palma airport, the old-town hotels are 15–20 minutes away, the western estates 30–40 minutes, and the east coast (Canyamel, Artà) just under an hour.

We analysed the 617 most recently available guest reviews (Booking + Google) across the 12 hotels below — every figure is counted, never estimated. Reviews harvested August 2026.

Son Brull outside Pollença tops the list at 9.7 on Booking — a 17th-century monastery turned Relais & Châteaux estate where the spa is built into the old vaults.

Treatments use oils from the estate's own olive and herb gardens, and the pool landscape looks out over the Tramuntana foothills.

A grown-up, quietly luxurious spa estate for Mallorca's rural side.

Why this rank: The highest Booking score in our selection and a spa experience woven into the estate rather than bolted on — the combination beats everything else on the island.

Historic 17th-century monastery architecture
Farm-to-table dining at on-site restaurant
Comprehensive wellness facilities in nature
Complimentary active travel amenities
Remote rural location requires driving
Limited evening entertainment options nearby
Pleta de Mar, Grand Luxury Hotel by Nature - Adults Only2

Pleta de Mar at Canyamel (9.6) is an adults-only hideaway of just 30 suites where nature itself is the spa concept — sea-facing treatment rooms, two infinity pools and Marc Fosh cooking.

The beach lies directly below, and the pace is the calmest on the entire east coast.

Why this rank: A whisker behind first on score and the island's most secluded spa setting — second only because the facilities are smaller than Son Brull's.

Direct access to Canyamel beach
Infinity pools overlooking the Mediterranean
Private outdoor spaces in all suites
Focus on nature-integrated architecture
High-season rates are premium
Limited public transport connections nearby
Es Princep - The Leading Hotels of the World3

Es Príncep in Palma's old town (9.5 from over a thousand guests) crowns the city options: a rooftop pool above the sea walls and a spa built into the vaults of an old tannery.

The La Calatrava location puts the cathedral and harbour promenade within strolling distance.

Why this rank: The best city spa — and the most proven score on the list, with 1,047 reviews behind its 9.5.

Rooftop terrace with bay views
Historic old town setting
Subterranean thermal spa circuit
Multiple high-quality dining options
Limited natural light in some rooms
Rooftop pool size is relatively modest
El Llorenc Parc de la Mar - Adults Only (+16)4
Google4.7· 407 reviews
Booking9.4· 849 reviews

30 of 30 mentions of service & staff are positive · 16 of 16 mentions of location are positive

El Llorenç Parc de la Mar (9.4) is the adults-only choice (16+) in the old town, with a rooftop pool, hammam and perhaps Palma's most handsome compact spa suite.

For couples pairing a city break with proper treatments, this is the first port of call.

Why this rank: Shares the city virtues with Es Príncep but is smaller — the adults-only profile makes it the right pick for couples without children, hence the spot just behind.

Rooftop pool with Palma Bay views
Comprehensive complimentary spa facilities
Prime location in historic Palma
Sophisticated adults-only atmosphere
Navigating narrow streets for parking
Rooftop lounge chairs fill quickly
Sant Francesc Hotel Singular5
Google4.7· 598 reviews
Booking9.4· 605 reviews

48 of 48 mentions of service & staff are positive · 34 of 34 mentions of location are positive

Sant Francesc Hotel Singular (9.4) occupies a neoclassical palace on one of the old town's quietest squares — rooftop pool, treatment rooms and one of Palma's most talked-about breakfasts.

Why this rank: Palace atmosphere and location in the top tier; the spa is smaller than Es Príncep's and El Llorenç's, which explains fifth place.

Restored 19th-century architectural details
Panoramic rooftop terrace and pool
Central old town plaza location
Preserved original frescoes and moldings
Small rooftop pool size
Limited onsite spa facilities
Portixol Hotel & Restaurant6
Google4.3· 1,623 reviews
Booking9.3· 607 reviews

37 of 37 mentions of food & restaurants are positive · 34 of 34 mentions of service & staff are positive

Portixol Hotel & Restaurant (9.3) in the old fishing harbour southeast of the centre is the Scandinavian favourite — sea swims from the jetty, a sauna and spa treatments with harbour views.

Come for the combination of a morning dip, spa time and one of the island's best hotel restaurants.

Why this rank: Unique harbour character and sea bathing outweigh a smaller spa — best for those who want the water itself, not just the pool.

Prime harbourfront position near Palma
Private balconies with Mediterranean views
Complimentary parking in a busy area
Tranquil outdoor pool and wellness spa
Brief walk required to reach beach
Occasional noise from nearby harbor traffic
Can Bordoy Grand House GL Member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts7
Google4.8· 669 reviews
Booking9.3· 326 reviews

16 of 16 mentions of service & staff are positive · 12 of 12 mentions of location are positive

Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden (9.3) has Palma's largest private garden — and a spa in the foundations of a 16th-century palace with pool, hammam and privately bookable treatments.

Sixteen suites mean it never feels shared.

Why this rank: The most private spa format in town — the whole facility can effectively become yours — but its size limits those wanting a full-service spa.

Expansive private garden in Old Town
Year-round heated garden swimming pool
Historic residential-style guest suites
Rooftop plunge pool with panoramic views
Narrow surrounding historic streets
Limited on-site parking availability

Grand Hotel Son Net (9.3) in the mountain village of Puigpunyent is the estate with Tramuntana views — an outdoor pool among cypresses, a newly renovated spa and a wine cellar in the rock.

Why this rank: Mountain setting and estate feel are world class; the spa is newly opened and still unproven in guest data, hence a mid-table spot despite high potential.

Restored 17th-century estate with original features
Framed by olive and citrus orchards
Dual dining options showcasing local ingredients
Scenic outdoor pool overlooking the valley
High demand for peak-season spa bookings
Hilly terrain may challenge some guests

Carrossa Hotel & Spa (9.2) above Artà is eastern Mallorca's spa flagship — 1,500 square metres of spa, an indoor pool and villas with private pools among the olive groves.

Why this rank: One of the island's largest spa areas outside Palma and the best pick for pairing treatments with hiking in the east — a score a notch below the top settles the placing.

Panoramic views of Mallorcan countryside
Extensive thermal spa and wellness facilities
Private entrances for selected guest rooms
Dual indoor and outdoor swimming pools
Remote location requires a rental car
Limited dining options within walking distance
Finca Serena Mallorca, Small Luxury Hotels10
Google4.5· 317 reviews

Finca Serena (9.1) in the island's centre is the adults-only finca with lavender fields, an infinity pool and a serene spa stocked with Susanne Kaufmann products.

Come for total silence — the nearest village is several kilometres away.

Why this rank: The purest retreat option on the list; fewer facilities than the estates above it, hence the placing — but the silence is unmatched.

Tranquil adults-only rural estate
Comprehensive on-site wellness facilities
Local Mediterranean dining options
Remote central island location
Distance from coastal beaches
Nobis Hotel Palma, a Member of Design Hotels11

Nobis Hotel Palma (9.1) is the Swedish design hotel in a 13th-century palace — a spa in the vaults below street level with pool, sauna and treatment rooms.

Why this rank: Scandinavian design meets medieval stone — the spa is compact but accomplished, and the central location makes it an effortless city choice.

Prime historic center location
Extensive subterranean wellness facilities
Thoughtful contemporary design elements
Walkable but distant beach access
Limited outdoor pool space

Zafiro Palace Alcudia (9.1) is the family option on the list — a five-star resort whose spa is large enough to be its own world, with indoor pool, hammam and couples' treatments.

While the children run the pool landscape, a genuinely adult spa awaits.

Why this rank: The only hotel on the list offering a full-scale spa AND a family resort at once — the placing reflects that its calm cannot match the adults-only houses.

Extensive network of swimming pools
Diverse selection of five themed restaurants
Modern suite layouts with private balconies
Comprehensive fitness and spa facilities
Family-friendly
Sizeable resort footprint requires walking
Lively atmosphere during peak family seasons

Frequently Asked Questions

Pleta de Mar (adults only, 30 suites by the sea), El Llorenç (16+, in the heart of Palma) and Finca Serena (an adults-only finca in total stillness) are the three dedicated adult options on the list. Son Brull is not formally adults only but runs at a distinctly grown-up pace.

Yes — all five city hotels (Es Príncep, El Llorenç, Sant Francesc, Can Bordoy, Nobis) sit in the old town with everything walkable, and the airport transfer takes about fifteen minutes. The estates and the east-coast hotels effectively require a car.

The spa hotels are open year round, and low season is their strength: November–March brings the lowest rates, free treatment slots and indoor facilities at their best. Spring and autumn pair spa time with pleasant outdoor weather; high summer favours the coastal properties.

Outside Palma, Carrossa near Artà leads with around 1,500 square metres of spa space. In the resort class, Zafiro Palace Alcudia has the largest facility, while the city hotels' spas are smaller but more private — Can Bordoy can effectively be booked as a private spa.
