Cap Vermell Grand Hotel

5-Star Hotel

Nestled in the tranquil Valley of Canyamel, Mallorca, and surrounded by natural beauty, Cap Vermell Grand Hotel is itself a haven of calm and a truly sanctuary of well-being. Only 15-minute walk from Canyamel and its quiet and heavenly beach.

The hotel, that reflects the style of a traditional Mallorquin hilltop village in its beauty, nature and vegetation, emerges from a hill with views of the Mediterranean Sea to one side, and pastel-toned sunsets over the valley’s rolling hills to the other.

Its one-of-a-kind design, an exquisite gastronomy alongside a breath-taking scenery stands the five-star Grand Luxe Cap Vermell Grand Hotel as one of the unique luxury retreats in the Mediterranean.

Guests can get pampered at the Serenitas Spa, an oasis of peace that invites to create a comfort and wellness journey, inspired by the local culture, featuring the only quartz sand bed in Mallorca. Serenitas honours the beautiful and ever-evolving island of Mallorca whilst at Cap Vermell Country Club, adjacent to the resort and with free access, guests will find the perfect place to enjoy playing sport or joining group classes of yoga, Pilates or spinning and various additional fitness activities. The Sports Centre also features 6 paddle and 1 tennis courts and a 25 m indoor pool.

Through its 142 spacious and elegant guest rooms, including 16 exquisitely patterned suites and 2 presidential suites, guests will indulge in the most sophisticated comfort, all enriched by private terraces overlooking the verdant valley or the Mediterranean Sea.

Cap Vermell Grand Hotel is a luxury well-being oasis, but also a gastronomic retreat. The resort offers an exquisite gastronomy thanks to the fine-dining restaurant VORO under the direction of chef Alvaro Salazar. At Tapas Bar or Balearic our guests will also encounter the perfect blend of local, Spanish, and Mediterranean cuisine, a nod to our local and national gastronomy based on local produce.

Enhancing their desire to extend its unique culinary proposals to guests, the Japanese restaurant ROKA offers its award-winning Japanese robatayaki concept, an authentic but contemporary Japanese cuisine.

Set in the beautiful, rugged countryside in eastern Mallorca, guests can enjoy horseback riding, mountain biking and golfers will find four different courses in the vicinity of the hotel.

Palma de Mallorca and its airport can be reached in around an hour’s drive.

Country Club is temporarily closed due to safety reasons and ongoing recovery works.

Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 10 October 2026 · How we review hotels

Epicureans seeking fine dining and a peaceful valley escape will find this five-star hotel best for their holiday. Well regarded by its guests, it offers two-Michelin-starred dining on site and six pools. However, the resort is entirely removed from the coastline, and its sprawling layout requires a lot of walking.

Cap Vermell Grand Hotel is a refined retreat styled after a traditional Mallorcan hillside village in the tranquil Canyamel Valley. Featuring exceptional dining at the double-Michelin-starred VORO and extensive wellness facilities, it offers a secluded sanctuary. It is best suited for couples and culinary enthusiasts seeking quiet luxury away from the bustling coastal resorts.

Guests score it 8.9 out of 10 — the average across the 54 hotels we list on Mallorca is 9.1.

Featured in our guide: 11 Luxury Family Hotels in Mallorca: Selected and Ranked

  • Gastronomy is a major focal point here, highlighted by VORO, where chef Álvaro Salazar serves avant-garde Balearic cuisine that has earned the restaurant two Michelin stars.
  • With six separate pools on offer, including quiet adults-only areas and dedicated family sections, guests can easily find a swimming space that suits their preferred pace.

“A true 5-star hotel! In our opinion, this is the best hotel in Mallorca. From the moment we arrived, the service was absolutely outstanding. Every member of the staff was professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. We were traveling with our 2-month-old baby, and everyone was incredibly kind and attentive to him, which made our stay even more special. We chose a beautiful room with spectacular views of the hotel grounds and the sea. The room was spotless throughout our stay, and housekeeping did an excellent job every day. The breakfast buffet was simply incredible, with a huge variety of high-quality options. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurants, and every meal was amazing. The only small point to mention is that the baby cot wasn’t the most comfortable, but it wasn’t an issue for us since our bed was huge and our baby happily slept with us. The gym is spacious and very well equipped with modern machines, and the pool area is absolutely beautiful. The pool service was excellent, and the overall attention to detail throughout the hotel was exactly what you would expect from a true luxury resort. Without a doubt, this is a genuine 5-star experience. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!”

“Surprised by the negative reviews as we had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was beautiful, spacious and had a lovely view over the valley, which many of the rooms appear to offer. We had just come from the St. Regis Mallorca, which was stunning, but nearly three times the price per night. In comparison, we felt this hotel offered much better value for money. The pool area is beautiful, although, as others have mentioned, it is on the smaller side. It was fine during our stay in early June, with plenty of loungers available, but I imagine it could feel busy during the peak summer period. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Not huge but very fresh and high quality with very good and friendly service. We were travelling with our 3 year old and felt the hotel struck a good balance between being family-friendly (kids food menus and welcoming staff) yet far from being overrun with kids - only a small handful during our stay. The hotel is definitely located in a quieter, more remote part of the island, I don’t know if you would want too much time here unless you are really looking to slow down, but after spending time in two very touristy parts of Mallorca, we found it to be a welcome change of pace.”

“We just got back from another incredible stay at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, and we just keep coming back because it never disappoints. The property itself is stunning and our room was absolutely spotless every single day, but it's really the team here that makes the place so special. A massive thank you to Daniel and Tomeu for their exceptional hospitality! They truly went out of their way to take care of us and made everything feel so personal and welcoming. Honestly, the entire staff deserves a shoutout from the valet guys who were always super quick, to the housekeepers, to the restaurant team. Everyone we walked past was always smiling, genuinely friendly, and paid attention to every little detail. You can tell they really care about their guests. We can't wait to be back!”

“Booked through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts, and frankly this property should not be part of the programme. Having stayed at many Fine Hotels & Resorts properties, the service level here is nowhere near the standard expected. Don't expect any meaningful recognition of your Amex booking benefits. Based on conversations with other guests and reviews from fellow Amex cardholders, this appears to be a recurring issue rather than an isolated experience. First impressions matter, and the weakest part of this hotel is undoubtedly the front desk and check-in experience. In particular, Front Desk Manager Johana consistently deflected issues, avoided ownership, offered empty apologies, and repeatedly pushed problems onto the Guest Relations team rather than resolving them. It is difficult to understand what value her role adds to the guest experience. The front desk operation as a whole appears poorly trained and lacking effective management. This is not unique to my stay; similar concerns are repeatedly mentioned in guest reviews. What made matters worse was the repeated mishandling of basic guest information. My Amex booking clearly contained the correct details, yet I was addressed inconsistently throughout the stay. On one document I was listed as "Mrs", while on the welcome card I was "Mr". For a luxury hotel, this level of carelessness is difficult to understand and reflects a lack of attention to detail. Prior to arrival, I emailed the hotel two days in advance requesting adjacent rooms, as our group had booked three rooms, and also enquired about early check-in. Despite this, we were allocated rooms in completely different buildings and one of the rooms was not ready until after the standard check-in time. It raises the question of whether guest requests are reviewed at all. The front desk team repeatedly made promises that either never materialised or turned out to be inaccurate. "Five more minutes" became ten, then twenty, then forty. Too much of our holiday was spent waiting around for updates that never came. Poolside service was virtually non-existent. This was the first five-star hotel I have visited where nobody greeted us, acknowledged our arrival, or offered assistance. Umbrellas, sunbeds and towels were all effectively self-service. Any expectation of proactive hospitality should be left at the door. To be fair, not everything was negative. We had an excellent dinner at Bravo, where the food, live music and service were genuinely enjoyable. The Guest Relations team was also helpful and made a sincere effort to recover parts of the experience when issues were escalated to them. Overall, this hotel falls significantly short of the standards expected from both a five-star property and an Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts partner. There are many better options available on the island, and I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you are booking through the Amex programme. Update: Unfortunately, the service issues continued throughout our stay. After providing three room numbers to a doorman, he dropped us at the furthest room and incorrectly told us the other two were right next door. They were not. The front desk remained consistently poor. We requested our bills before checkout and found incorrect charges that needed to be removed. We also specifically confirmed that our key cards would work until 4pm under the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts late checkout benefit. We were assured they would, yet all of our keys stopped working and had to be reissued. At this point, it became difficult to trust any information provided by the front desk, they definitely need some additional training or a change of career. To be fair, the breakfast team was excellent, best service at this hotel so far. Having now read other guest reviews, it is clear that the front desk and management issues are not isolated incidents. If you are used to the service standards of Park Hyatt, Edition or similar luxury brands, I would recommend staying elsewhere.”

“We had a wonderful stay at Cap Vermell Grand Hotel. The service was excellent from start to finish, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel very welcome. The hotel is the perfect place to relax and unwind. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with beautiful surroundings, this is an excellent choice. However, if your idea of a holiday is nightlife and parties, this probably isn't the right hotel for you. The location is also convenient—it's only about a 7-minute drive to the beach, so you can easily enjoy the coast while staying in a quiet and luxurious setting. Overall, I highly recommend Cap Vermell Grand Hotel for anyone looking for comfort, exceptional service, and a relaxing atmosphere.”
