“When I stayed at Pleta de Mar, I was newly dating the woman who is now my wife and was very much trying to impress her. We arrived during the first week of fall, just after high season, and the small group of guests sharing the property with us seemed like European royals. The temperature hovered around 70 degrees beneath the bright Spanish sun, giving the whole visit the calm of a place exhaling after summer. Fortunately for me, the hotel knocked both of our socks off. Our room felt like a private casita set among Mediterranean pines, with a stone floor in the outdoor shower that made the connection to the landscape feel wonderfully literal. A gorgeous Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speaker let us fill the room with music, a small pleasure that fit the relaxed mood of the trip. The dark-bottomed infinity pool was striking against the ocean and became the visual center of the hotel for us. Just as important, the staff was kind and respectful, with none of the stiffness that sometimes accompanies this level of luxury. Food throughout the stay was excellent, including the more elaborate dishes you would expect from a hotel at this level. The chicken club sandwich was absolutely delectable, the kind of simple order that a great kitchen executes with absurd precision. One morning, we walked to the sister property, Can Simoneta, for yoga and breakfast, finding the same level of care expressed through a slightly different personality. Having rented a car from the airport, we also explored Canyamel and drove past the beautiful homes scattered across the hillsides. Years later, Pleta de Mar remains one of my favorite hotels in the world and part of the story of our early years together. It was my first visit to Mallorca, and the combination of the island and this hotel left me completely enamored. Few places have made such a strong impression while also feeling so easy to inhabit.”

“Beautiful hotel with a very calm and private atmosphere. The setting, architecture and overall feeling of the place are really special, but what stood out most to me was the service. The team was extremely kind, attentive and personal throughout the five nights stay, which made the experience feel genuinely premium. Breakfast was also a highlight; relaxed, high quality and with a beautiful atmosphere. Special thanks to Javier and the whole team for the warm hospitality. Overall a very special place to switch off and enjoy Mallorca in a quieter, more refined way. I would definitely come back.”

“Amazing hotel, every detail in the room was taking care of. Kudos to the housecleaning team who paid attention to everything in our room. We really appreciated having still/sparkling water all the time in the room. Food was very good. Was a little bit disappointed by the breakfast specially the eggs Benedict were not at all what you can see on the pictures.. but overall we had a good experience, very nice hotel and quiet.”

Everyone there was welcoming and very helpful. We purchased the half board which we could have done without but it was nice not to worry about the price of the entrees we ordered each night.”
