Reviews from Google“Second stay: beautiful property, but service has slipped This was our second stay at this hotel, this time for a week in July. The property itself is beautiful, but the staff isn’t yet trained to the level 5-star service requires. It seems most of the team has changed since our last visit, and they’re not all up to speed yet. Similar properties like Son Net still offer live soft music at dinner or the bar whilst this hotel no longer does. Throughout the week we ran into daily issues: Hot water: None available… had to call reception every day and wait around 5 minutes for it to heat up. Same problem recurred daily and wasn’t actually resolved until our last day. Power cut in the room before dinner: Staff seemed unaware it had even happened. Ironing board: 20-minute wait, and the iron itself was dripping water, dirty, broken, and low quality. International plug adapter: Didn’t work, and they had no backup available. Pool service: Food and drink orders were slow or simply forgotten… items never arrived. Food overall however was very good, but expensive, think 30 euros for a sandwich, 9 euros for a Coke. After raising these issues with management, they offered a complimentary dinner and drove us themselves in the absence of a taxi, which we appreciated. That said, when you’re paying close to 1,000 euros a night, you expect top-notch service and while occasional problems are understandable, they shouldn’t repeat every day for a full week. Nevertheless, our Garden suite was clean and spacious but the bed was rather small (2 single beds put together with a topper)”
“We spent several wonderful days at Castell Son Claret and left thoroughly impressed. The property itself is stunning — impeccably maintained grounds, a beautiful blend of historic charm and modern design, a fantastic pool area, and truly gorgeous suites that made every moment of our stay feel special. What elevated our experience above all was the team. A special mention goes to concierge Mariano, who was simply outstanding: warm-hearted, creative, proactive, and always solution-oriented. Whatever we needed, he was one step ahead, and his genuine care made all the difference. The breakfast team deserves equal praise — attentive, friendly service every morning and a wonderful start to each day. And dinner at Sa Clastra was a highlight in itself: world-class service paired with an exceptional, memorable meal. The entire team there operates at the very highest level. We can wholeheartedly recommend Castell Son Claret and look forward to returning. Five stars, without hesitation.”
“I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe future guests should know about our experience. The only highlight of our stay was the exterior of the property. The grounds, gardens, and setting are absolutely stunning and beautifully maintained. Unfortunately, that was where the luxury experience ended. When we arrived, there was no one outside to greet us or offer valet parking. We parked the car ourselves and walked to reception . After check-in, only one staff member was sent to help with our four bags, so my husband had to carry the rest. Once we reached the room, no one explained the hotel, the amenities, breakfast hours, valet service, or any of the services available. As a result, the following morning we arrived for breakfast at around 10:20 a.m., unaware that breakfast ended at 10:30. Instead of making us feel welcome, we felt rushed while the staff prepared to clear the buffet. One evening there was a private party in the courtyard directly below our room that continued until around 2:00 a.m. The noise made it almost impossible to sleep, which was extremely disappointing for a hotel marketed as a peaceful luxury retreat. The following evening we returned around 11:00 p.m. and were told that the General Manager did not like seeing cars parked in front of the hotel in the morning. This was surprising because valet parking had never been offered or explained to us when we arrived. Rather than handling the situation with understanding, the interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming. During our stay we also had to request additional coffee capsules several times. When I asked why our room had not received evening turndown service, I was told that turndown is only provided for suites. This was surprising, as we have received turndown service in standard rooms at many other luxury hotels. Another interaction that left a poor impression occurred at the pool. We purchased bottled water for €8, and the hotel provides refillable bottles for guests to use throughout the day. When we were leaving for the beach, we asked if we could take one of the refillable bottles with us and return it later that day. Instead of simply answering us, the manager told the waiter, loudly enough for us to hear, “Give it to them just this time as a courtesy.” The way it was said felt unnecessary and made us feel embarrassed, even though we had every intention of returning the bottle and paid for it. Throughout our stay, several interactions left us feeling like we were inconveniencing the staff rather than being welcomed as guests. We also visited the spa, which was very small and did not feel like a five star spa experience. What disappointed us most was the overall lack of hospitality and attention to detail. At this price point, we expected a seamless experience where guests feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Instead, we often felt like an inconvenience. The setting is truly beautiful, but beautiful grounds alone are not enough. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not return.”
“Castell Son Claret was truly unforgettable. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by nature and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The staff were incredibly friendly and very attentive. Incredibly loved the Pool Suite, which perfectly combines a “back to nature” feeling with a luxurious experience. It offers privacy, comfort, and a beautiful connection to the surroundings. Already looking forward to future stays!”
“As a seasoned luxury traveller, majorly disappointed by Yet another Mallorcan property that’s marketed in luxury circles and priced at a premium, only to fall well short of expectations. Top suite felt more akin to a dated Asian beach chalet than a luxury accommodation. Quality of bedding (pillows), furniture to bathroom mats are seriously basic. Upon arrival, the room carried a musty smell indicating somehow poor ventilation. Dust was visible on the towel rack, corners were noticeably dirty and gross - hardly the standard one expects when checking into a premium suite. It suggested that a detail oriented pre-arrival inspection had been overlooked. The furnishings were uninspired and dated. For a room positioned at this price point, the overall ambience felt remarkably underwhelming. More tasteful and soft furnishings and carpeting would have gone some way towards creating a sense of comfort and luxury. Equally disappointing was the path between suite and main building: a long, poorly lit dusty gravel path that felt neglected rather than charming. For a property benefiting from significant German investment, one would expect greater attention to the guest experience (it really doesn’t cost much) and the simple question of whether the owners themselves would genuinely be content to stay here. As concerning, was the drinking water provided in reused and refilled bottles rather than sealed bottles. Whether environmentally motivated or not, this raises unnecessary hygiene concerns. When basic standards of cleanliness and maintenance are already questionable, it becomes difficult to have confidence in the property’s attention to detail elsewhere. Ultimately, this felt less like a luxury retreat and more like an expensive exercise in branding, with the reality falling far short of their marketing copy. The property is promising but something is quite lacking here compared to its luxury and SLH counterparts”
