By Axel Hernborg · Updated 30 August 2026 · How we review hotels
Multi-generational groups who prioritise pool options and convenient dining will enjoy Zafiro Palace Palmanova. It is rated 4.6 on Google by 876 reviewers and scores 8.8 on Booking.com from 164 reviews. This five-star resort delivers nine outdoor pools, five distinct dining venues, and a central location near the coastline. On the downside, the high guest volume during peak season means the resort gets crowded, and evening entertainment can be audible in some guest rooms.
Guests score it 8.8 out of 10 — the average across the 38 hotels we list in Mallorca is 9.
The 30-second verdict
What Guests Loved
- The resort features nine swimming pools, including designated areas for adults and children, ensuring varied environments for different guest preferences throughout the day.
- With five restaurants on-site, guests can choose between international buffets and specialized à la carte menus ranging from Italian cuisine to grilled specialties and Mediterranean flavors.
Things to Consider
- Due to its popularity with families and large capacity, communal areas can become crowded during mid-summer, though the multiple pools help distribute the guest load effectively.
- The resort hosts scheduled performances and music, which may be heard from certain room categories; light sleepers might prefer requesting a suite further from the central plaza.
Should you book it?
Zafiro Palace Palmanova is worth booking for families wanting dedicated children's pools and family rooms — but pick somewhere else if you dislike crowded communal areas during peak summer.

Reviews from Google“Fantastic service at the veranda restaurant during the evening! Gluten free can be tricky to eat out on holiday but this place had so many options and the staff were so accommodating! Also very knowledgeable and careful to reassure us that the meal was gluten free. There wasn’t anything that I wasn’t able to order and it made our meal a real treat! Absolutely fantastic food quality and lovely, friendly, polite and helpful service from Jonny and Mark, as well as a very smiley lady who was so kind, but didn’t manage to get her name! Thank you so much. We recommend this restaurant, do not miss out eating here during your stay! Especially if you’re gluten free!”
“Kid friendly. Pools good and kids pool area is good for under 10s, 5min from beach. There was a playground with slides and bouncy castle. Staff were all friendly throughout. Rooms. Good and spacious. There was a free late checkout because we booked through the website. There was lots of rooms poolside and it didnt feel it was crowded. It was also far enough away from the beach and bars that it was quiet. Food. The buffet was sub par for coeliacs. Staff in the buffet would benefit from training on cross contamination and should inform guests up front what gluten free options were available in the kitchen (we only found out pizza and pasta could be made because another guest told us). However the a la carte restaurants were excellent for coeliacs. Staff (jefe de sections) were very knowledgeable and most dishes could be adapted. Given we were able to eat at these restaurants for 4 nights of our stay it more than made up for the short falls in the buffet.”
“Really lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean, gorgeous food and big spacious rooms. We had a lovely stay here as a family. The only slight mention for improvement would be to staff more at the swim up bar. It was really busy and 1 person serving was just not enough and you had to wait a long time to get served. Certainly not the bar staff fault, they worked so hard and always had a smile, just only got 1 pair of hands! Excellent location, short walk to the beach and shops.”
“We had a fantastic stay at Zafiro Palace Palmanova. The hotel is immaculate, the facilities are excellent, and the location is perfect for families wanting to enjoy Mallorca. We stayed in a swim up room, which made the holiday even more enjoyable. A special mention has to go to Tatiana, who looked after us throughout our stay around the swim up area. Her service was exceptional. She was always warm, welcoming, attentive, and nothing was ever too much trouble. She genuinely made our experience feel personal and is a real credit to the hotel. We would happily return and highly recommend Zafiro Palace Palmanova to anyone looking for a relaxing, high quality family holiday. Five stars.”
“Absolutely fantastic hotel and stay. We stayed for 11 nights with our 4 year old who also loved it. Great service, fantastic rooms, brilliant children’s areas. Food superb - especially in the à la carte restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Italian and Mediterranean. Fantastic service from Santi B, Baitos, Paula and Cati in El Olivio and Portico! Great location next to Palmanova beach, very quick transfer time from Palma airport (sub 30 mins)”
