The coast (Bodrum, Antalya) is at its best May–October, warmest in July–August. Istanbul is most pleasant in spring and early autumn, with milder temperatures for exploring the city.
Turkey offers a great deal of luxury for the money. A five-star hotel often starts at around £150–270 a night, and even the top all-inclusive resorts come in well below the equivalent standard in Italy or on the French Riviera.
Very much so, especially in Antalya, where resorts are built around families with pools, waterparks, kids' clubs and all-inclusive. Couples after a calmer, more polished setting are often happier in Bodrum.
