As a general rule, properties in our selection carry an average guest rating of around 9.0 or above, alongside clear quality indicators such as award-winning spas, acclaimed restaurants and consistently strong service.
Distinctive advantages
Priority was given to hotels with a genuine signature of their own — private pools, expansive gardens, personal hosts or butlers, world-class architecture, ambitious rooftop bars or carefully curated cultural and shopping experiences. We also gave considerable weight to wellness credentials, including traditional hammam, holistic treatments and well-equipped gym facilities.
Location and surroundings
We sought a sensible balance between seclusion and convenience. Within the medina, we favoured riads with easy access, clear wayfinding and peaceful inner courtyards. In the Palmeraie and the districts beyond the city walls, we selected addresses that offer generous space, reliable transfer links and Atlas Mountain views, without asking guests to sacrifice too much time getting to the city's restaurants and sights.

The medina suits those who want to be right in the thick of it, within walking distance of the souks. The Palmeraie offers more space, a quieter pace and a resort feel, typically with multiple pools and gardens.
For spring and autumn trips, three to six months ahead is advisable; for Christmas and New Year, allow six to nine months. Summer can often be booked closer to the time, though pool suites tend to go quickly.
Many offer family suites, extra beds and children's clubs. It is worth checking age restrictions for spa areas and quieter pools, as certain zones are reserved for adults.
