Why this position: Leads the ranking: a higher guest score than #2 (9.7 to 9.3).

Avali suits guests who want the broadest dining reach on Corfu without changing hotel. The Premium All-Inclusive covers six à la carte restaurants and three buffets across the Mar-Bella Collection, à la carte lunch is included and branded drinks come with it. Its guest score is the highest we list on the island, but it is built on fewer reviews than the established resorts, and the hotel is newer than its neighbours.

Why this position: Sits behind #1 on both the score (9.3 to 9.7) and the sample it rests on (36 to 86 reviews).

Discriminating travellers looking for top-tier service and dining variety should choose Ikos Dassia. Guests rate this luxury resort superbly. Highlights include eight diverse on-site dining options, seven landscaped outdoor swimming pools, and an open-air cinema. On the downside, the sprawling layout requires significant walking, restaurant reservations require forward planning due to high demand, and the beach itself is not the primary draw.

Why this position: Rests on more guest reviews than #7 (504 to 29), at a slightly lower score (9.0 to 9.8).

Grecotel Corfu Imperial is made for guests who want the holiday to happen inside the resort. It occupies a private peninsula at Kommeno, so the sea frames almost every view, and four sandy beaches, several pools and gardens that run down to the water keep the days close at hand. Guests speak most warmly about the staff, the breakfast and the seafront restaurants, and families value the free kids' club and the larger family rooms. The same seclusion is the main trade-off. There is nothing to walk to, so trips to Corfu Town, about 12 km away, depend on the hotel shuttle or a taxi. In high season the sunbeds go early and pool service can slow down, and some rooms show their age in the bathrooms. Couples and families who plan to stay put will find a calm, well-run base; travellers who like to wander out for dinner are better served closer to town.

Private peninsula with open sea views
Four private sandy beaches
Warm, attentive staff
Excellent breakfast and seafront dining
Free kids' club and family rooms
Nothing within walking distance

Where to stay on Corfu?

Areas drawn from our hotels' addresses — updated as the selection changes.

Kommeno Peninsula and Dassia

Best for Resort-style luxury

Situated just north of Corfu Town, this sheltered stretch of coast features upscale resorts, calm waters and private coves. It provides easy access to the historical capital while offering a peaceful, pine-fringed escape.

The West Coast

Best for Dramatic sunset views

Characterised by rugged cliffs, sandy bays and olive groves, this western corridor runs from the steep hills of Agios Gordios up to the quieter, rural villages of the far north-west. It is ideal for those seeking striking natural landscapes and coastal walks.

Agios Ioannis Peristeron

Best for Secluded relaxation

A quieter coastal pocket on the south-east coast, known for its clear, calm waters and shingle beaches. It offers a slower pace of life, removed from the busier tourist hubs further north.

Areas to consider

While the dramatic west coast offers striking cliffside scenery, the steep and winding roads can be challenging to navigate at night, and more isolated properties in this region typically require a hire car.

How we chose these hotels

At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google — weighted by how many reviews sit behind them — five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.

As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own — when the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
