In short: Book Club Maspalomas Suites & Spa for its quiet low-rise layout, Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel for its prime beachfront position near the lighthouse, or Bohemia Suites & Spa for its rooftop dining with panoramic views.
Gran Canaria is one of Europe's strongest bastions of hotels that close the door to children entirely. The supply is concentrated on the island's south coast – Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés and San Agustín – where the dunes and stable winter warmth draw couples year round.
We checked every property's adults policy directly against the hotels' official websites. To qualify, a hotel needs a verified adults-only policy, at least four stars and a Booking guest score of at least 8.5. Several famous houses fell at that check — most recently the Radisson Blu Resort, which turned out to be expressly family-friendly. Here are the nine adults-only hotels we selected.
The numbers beside each hotel are counted from real guest reviews (Booking + Google) — never estimated.
How we ranked the hotels
The order rests on guest scores, the counted themes from our review analyses and the officially verified age limits — the table shows the limit that actually applies at each hotel. Below each hotel we explain its placement.
Good to know about Gran Canaria
The adults-only hotels cluster in three areas, all 20–35 minutes from the airport. Maspalomas/Meloneras (Club Maspalomas, Riu Palace, Hotel Faro) has the highest hotel standard, the dunes and the calmest couples' pace. Playa del Inglés (Bohemia, HL Suitehotel) is best for restaurants, bars and walkable buzz. San Agustín (Don Gregory, Bull Vital, Bull Costa, Corallium) offers beachfront adult calm with far less nightlife. The south-west coast around Puerto Rico has more dramatic ocean views but no true adults-only luxury.
Hotels we reviewed but left out
Being open about rejections is part of our methodology:
- Radisson Blu Resort Gran Canaria — previously on this list, removed after re-verification: Radisson's own site describes the hotel as family-friendly with a VIC Kids Club (ages 4–10) and family suites. It also sits in Arguineguín by Patalavaca — not at Playa de Tasarte as our earlier text wrongly stated.
- Hotel Nayra — four stars and verified 18+ on its own site, but its Booking listing is closed, so the review data our ranking builds on cannot be tracked. On our watch list.
If anything changes, the selection will be reconsidered.
We analysed the 339 most recently available guest reviews (Booking + Google) across the 9 hotels below — every figure is counted, never estimated. Reviews harvested August 2026. How we count mentions.

1Gran Canaria, Spain
Condition & cleanliness: 22 of 22 mentions positive · Service & staff: 21 of 21 mentions positive
Club Maspalomas Suites & Spa tops the list with 9.4 on Booking and a whopping 4.8 on Google – the island's highest-rated adults-only hotel in our review.
The hotel is located in the quiet residential area of Campo Internacional, a short distance from the bustle of the promenade. The pool has a semi-Olympic swimming lane, which is unusual for a hotel of this size.
Spa and gym access are included at no extra cost, and the low-rise buildings give a peaceful, almost residential feel. A four-star hotel that delivers above its class.
Why this rank: The highest scores on the list on both Booking (9.4) and Google (4.8) — and 22 of 22 counted mentions of condition and cleanliness are positive. A clear number one.
2Gran Canaria, Spain
Food & restaurants: 63 of 66 mentions positive · Service & staff: 44 of 57 mentions positive
Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas stands at 9.0 with just over 1,500 reviews – the most well-known name on the list.
The hotel is situated on Avenida Tirajana with direct views of the Maspalomas dunes, offering a beachfront location with its own sun terrace.
It is a classic five-star resort hotel with a spa, gym and several restaurants. The size is noticeable, but the adults-only policy keeps the noise levels down.
Why this rank: A five-star classic right by the dunes with 63 of 66 counted food mentions positive — but the soundproofing draws recurring complaints.
3Gran Canaria, Spain
Service & staff: 13 of 14 mentions positive · Location: 13 of 13 mentions positive
Hotel Faro, a Lopesan Collection Hotel also reaches 9.0 – named after the lighthouse it stands next to.
The location is perhaps the best on the list: a few steps from the southern end of Maspalomas beach, with panoramic views of the six-kilometre-long stretch of dunes.
The decor is bright and urban rather than traditionally resort-style, and the hotel features three restaurants as well as a second pool on the roof terrace.
Why this rank: The lighthouse's neighbour with the promenade outside the door — 13 of 13 counted location mentions are positive. The hard beds pull the room score down.
4Gran Canaria, Spain
Service & staff: 19 of 19 mentions positive · Food & restaurants: 17 of 17 mentions positive
Bohemia Suites & Spa shares the 9.0 rating and is the most design-focused option on the list.
The hotel is located 200 metres from the beach at Playa del Inglés and has two outdoor pools – one freshwater and one saltwater – plus two jacuzzis.
The rooms are decorated in yellow, terracotta or purple with olive wood furniture, and the rooftop restaurant serves creative local food with panoramic views. Small, personal and distinctly styled.
Why this rank: The design house with the rooftop 360° restaurant — 17 of 17 counted food mentions are positive. The same Booking score as numbers two and three, but far fewer reviews put it fourth.
5Gran Canaria, Spain
The rooms: 15 of 16 mentions positive · Location: 13 of 13 mentions positive
Don Gregory by Dunas is San Agustín's beachfront hotel for adults — the house sits literally on Las Burras beach, and the oceanfront infinity pool is guests' obvious favourite spot.
15 of 16 counted room mentions are positive: a sea-view balcony in every room, with floors 7–8 the favourites. Worth knowing before you book: the hotel has no sunbeds of its own down on the beach.
Why this rank: The only house on the list directly on the beach — 15 of 16 counted room mentions are positive. The lack of hotel sunbeds on the beach is, honestly, the flip side.
6Gran Canaria, Spain
The rooms: 8 of 9 mentions positive · Pools, beach & aquapark: 8 of 10 mentions positive
Bull Vital Suites & Spa Boutique Hotel reaches 8.8, based on just over 1,500 reviews.
The hotel is located next to the Maspalomas golf course with views of the dunes, and the rooms are spacious junior suites with kitchenettes – practical for longer stays.
The Roman-inspired spa with sauna, thermal baths and steam room is included with one free visit per guest per stay.
Why this rank: Boutique feel and a spa with a 16+ limit in San Agustín — but the 4.3 Google average is the list's lowest and keeps it out of the top five.
7Gran Canaria, Spain
Food & restaurants: 6 of 6 mentions positive · Location: 6 of 6 mentions positive
Bull Costa Canaria & Spa stands at 8.7 and is the quietest beachfront option on the list.
The hotel is located right by the sea in San Agustín, a significantly quieter resort than Playa del Inglés a few kilometres away.
The roof terrace offers panoramic views, and the hotel features outdoor pools, a well-equipped gym and its own wellness centre.
Why this rank: The adults-only classic on San Agustín beach — 8.7 on Booking with strong Google backing (4.5 from nearly 2,000 votes) lands it mid-field.
8Gran Canaria, Spain
Service & staff: 15 of 17 mentions positive · Food & restaurants: 11 of 12 mentions positive
HL Suitehotel Playa del Inglés has the most central location of all — 100 metres from Playa del Inglés beach, amid the restaurants and bars that made the resort famous.
Every room has its own balcony, and the roof terrace gives panoramic views over the beach. The list's best-value choice if you want everything within walking distance.
Why this rank: The most central location of all — 100 metres from Playa del Inglés beach — at the list's best-value level. The 8.6 score reflects the four-star class, not the location.
9Gran Canaria, Spain
Location: 37 of 37 mentions positive · Service & staff: 36 of 47 mentions positive
Corallium Beach by Lopesan rounds off the list with 8.5 on Booking – but behind this score are over 2,300 reviews, by far the most of any hotel in this guide.
The hotel is located in San Agustín, a much quieter resort than Playa del Inglés six kilometres away, with dark volcanic sand and a more relaxed pace.
The 210 rooms are bright and most have sea views, either direct or side-facing. A great-value choice if you want an adults-only stay without paying Maspalomas prices.
Why this rank: Right on the 8.5 floor with mixed room verdicts (16 positive against 17 negative counted) — but the beachfront setting, with 37 of 37 counted location mentions positive, earns its place.
