Frequently Asked Questions
On the Red Sea, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh dominate with large beach resorts, house reefs and all-inclusive. Cairo delivers historic city luxury, with pyramid views from several classic hotels.
Hurghada for the widest choice and the easiest direct flights; Sharm for the Sinai peninsula's dramatic backdrop and some of the Red Sea's best dive sites (Ras Mohammed). Both deliver big five-star resorts with private beaches — the choice mostly comes down to location and reefs.
The Red Sea works year-round — winter (October–April) is the highlight at 22–28°C while Europe is cold. Summer is very hot but good value. For Cairo and cultural trips, October–April is by far the most comfortable.
Egypt is one of the best-value luxury destinations: five-star beach resorts often start at around £120–250 a night, frequently with all-inclusive included. Even the top tier comes in far below European Mediterranean prices.
World-class. Many resorts in Hurghada and Sharm have their own house reefs straight off the beach or jetty — you step more or less from your sunlounger onto the reef. The Red Sea's visibility and coral life rank among the best on earth.
Almost — the majority of beach resorts offer it, often with several à la carte restaurants included. In Cairo, hotels are classic city properties where breakfast or half-board is the norm.
