Hotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte Hotel
Brussels, Belgium
Best overallHotel Amigo, a Rocco Forte Hotel, is for travellers who want the old centre of Brussels right outside the door… It stands on the corner of the Grand-Place, Manneken Pis is about 200 metres away, and guests repeatedly call the location perfect for walking to sights, restaurants and bars. The staff earn just as much praise, from a front desk that helps with every question to a porter and concierge team who know the area well. Rooms are elegant, with designer touches, mosaic bathrooms and showers that guests single out, and the bar's creative cocktails and the Italian restaurant round off the stay. Breakfast is the weak spot. Several guests found it poorly organised, slow to be served and limited for the price, and one was simply unimpressed. Some rooms look onto a dreary inner courtyard rather than the street, so it is worth asking about the view. For a walkable city break in the historic centre, it is an elegant and very well-placed choice.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 9 hotels we rank here — 9.4 from 624 reviews. Leads the ranking: a higher guest score than #2 (9.4 to 9.2).

Stanhope Hotel by Thon Hotels
Brussels, Belgium
Stanhope Hotel by Thon Hotels is for travellers who want Brussels to feel calm and well looked after… The boutique hotel on Rue du Commerce was refurbished in 2019 and sits a short walk from the Royal Palace, and guests describe it as gorgeous and immaculately maintained. Above all they praise the staff, from the front desk onwards, along with the decor, spacious rooms and suites, a wonderful breakfast and small extras such as chocolates on the pillow and Molton Brown toiletries. Breakfast can be taken under a 100-year-old magnolia tree on the courtyard terrace, and there is a 24-hour gym with a sauna. A few details let the polish slip. Guests who pay separately for breakfast find it expensive, those on longer stays say toiletries and coffee are restocked sparingly, and one couple found the cleaning uneven. For couples and travellers who value personal service in an elegant setting, it is a refined choice.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 9 hotels we rank here — 9.2 from 1,611 reviews. Rests on more guest reviews than #1 (1,611 to 624), at a slightly lower score (9.2 to 9.4).

Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels
Brussels, Belgium
DesignCorinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels suits travellers who want a city hotel with proper wellness facilities… It stands on Rue Royale, and guests return again and again to how beautiful and stylish the building is, with an interior that feels fresh and new. The spa, indoor pool, sauna and gym earn especially warm words, and the speakeasy-style bar and the restaurant are praised too. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, housekeeping is thorough, and breakfast is singled out for its freshness, quality and variety. The reservations are few and practical. Breakfast is expensive if it is not included in the rate, there is no ramp at the main entrance, which is awkward with a pushchair, and the lobby can get busy when many guests check out at once. One guest also found the location less convenient than expected. For couples and city-break travellers who want to mix sightseeing with a spa day, it is a polished, calm base in Brussels.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 9 hotels we rank here — 9.4 from 263 reviews. Scores higher than #2 (9.4 to 9.2), on a smaller body of reviews (263 to 1,611).

Juliana Hotel & Spa - Brussels Centre
Brussels, Belgium
Spa & wellnessJuliana Hotel & Spa - Brussels Centre suits travellers who want calm without giving up a central location… It faces Place des Martyrs, a quiet square, yet guests stress that the main sights are within walking distance. The interiors draw constant compliments for their decor and cleanliness, rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, and some come with a fine view. The spa, with an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, gives the hotel a real wellness side, and beauty treatments and wellness packages are available. Staff are praised throughout, and one guest described a head concierge who set the tone from a late-night arrival onwards. Criticism is scarce. One guest found breakfast good but the service mediocre and unwelcoming, another would have liked more tea and coffee in the room, and the airport shuttle comes at an extra charge. For couples who want spa time between walks through the centre, it is a peaceful, polished base.
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #3 (741 to 263), at a slightly lower score (8.8 to 9.4).

The Standard, Brussels
Brussels, Belgium
The Standard, Brussels suits guests who put the room first and do not mind a short ride into the old town… It stands on Koning Albert II Laan, a few minutes' walk from Brussels-North station, and guests describe it as new, stylish and quiet, with large rooms, spacious bathrooms and bedding that wins plenty of praise. The rooftop bar is admired for its views, and staff are remembered as professional and genuinely helpful, whether with luggage or with keys left behind in the room. A fitness centre, a sun terrace and a garden round out the facilities. The location is the trade-off. Grand-Place is about 2 km away, roughly a 25-minute walk, and the surrounding streets offer few places to eat, so dinner often means heading out. Guests also note that the hotel restaurant can feel short-staffed and closes early. For a design-led stay with the trains close at hand, it delivers real comfort.
Why this position
Rests on more guest reviews than #4 (1,575 to 741), at a slightly lower score (8.7 to 8.8).

Sofitel Brussels Europe
Brussels, Belgium
Sofitel Brussels Europe suits guests whose plans centre on the European Quarter rather than the old town… It stands on Place Jourdan in Etterbeek, a lively square within walking distance of the main EU institutions, and its rooftop bar looks straight out over it. Guests praise spacious rooms and beds they compare to sleeping on a cloud, an excellent breakfast and staff who are polite, friendly and ready to help. The building itself has an elegant feel, and guests notice details such as a handsome spiral staircase. The location is the main thing to weigh up. The hotel lies outside the historic centre, and Grand-Place is four metro stops away, so sightseeing days start with a short ride. The bars on Place Jourdan bring some street noise in the evening, and connecting to the free Wi-Fi can take a little patience. For EU business or a stay in a more local neighbourhood, it is a polished base.
Why this position
Sits behind #5 on both the score (8.6 to 8.7) and the sample it rests on (508 to 1,575 reviews).

Eurostars Montgomery
Brussels, Belgium
Peace and quietEurostars Montgomery makes most sense for travellers whose business lies in the European Quarter… It stands on Avenue de Tervueren at Montgomery, east of the EU institutions and well outside the old centre, with the metro station directly opposite and a direct line to Schuman and the European Commission. Guests keep coming back to that transport link, along with the quiet, the cleanliness and the spacious rooms. The traditional, Victorian-style interior is matched by high-quality bedding, towels and fittings, breakfast is well regarded and the gym gets a mention too; one guest's junior suite came with a large terrace. The drawbacks are practical. Parking costs extra, some bathrooms have the shower in the bath, and one guest wished the windows opened further. The bigger consideration is location: the Grand-Place and the old centre are a metro ride away rather than a stroll. As a quiet, comfortable base near the EU institutions it works well; for a sightseeing weekend, a hotel in the centre is the easier choice.
Why this position
Guests rate it above #6 (8.6 to 8.6) and on more reviews (2,321 to 508).

OPO Hotel
Brussels, Belgium
Affordable luxuryOPO Hotel suits travellers who want to spend their days out in Brussels and come back to a calm, spotless room… It stands on Rue de la Vierge Noire in the city centre, and guests repeatedly single out the location, the cleanliness and staff who are friendly and quick to help. Rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, soft linen, soundproofing, air conditioning and roomy bathrooms with walk-in showers, and the hotel comes across as recently renovated. One guest found it quiet despite the central address. The trade-off is that the hotel is mostly about the rooms. Its listed facilities run to a minimarket, a lift and a 24-hour front desk, with no restaurant, gym or spa among them, so dinners and evenings happen in the surrounding streets. Rooms facing the road can pick up the occasional siren, and one guest found the welcome rather flat. For a practical, central city break it is an easy choice.
Why this position
Among the three highest guest scores of the 9 hotels we rank here — 9.2 from 3,118 reviews. A lower star class than #7, but guests rate it higher (9.2 to 8.6).

Pillows City Hotel Brussels Centre
Brussels, Belgium
Pillows City Hotel Brussels Centre makes most sense for travellers who arrive by train and want the old town on foot… Brussels Central Station is about 100 metres away, and Grand-Place and Manneken Pis are just over five minutes' walk. Guests keep coming back to the beds, with extra-long mattresses and pillows they struggle to fault, and they praise staff who are kind, efficient and quick to help. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathrooms have walk-in showers, and a chocolate left in the room each day is a detail guests remember. Breakfast also earns warm words. The setting is more business district than postcard. Some rooms look straight onto office buildings, and the occasional guest notices small housekeeping lapses in the bathroom or the bedding. Facilities stop at a restaurant, a bar, a fitness centre and room service, with no pool or spa. As a comfortable, well-connected base in the city, it works well.
Why this position
Sits behind #8 on both the score (9.1 to 9.2) and the sample it rests on (2,371 to 3,118 reviews).
