Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris
Paris, France
Best overallWhy this position: Among the three highest guest scores of the 12 hotels we rank here — 9.6 from 252 reviews. Leads the ranking on the weight of evidence: 252 reviews to #2's 99, although #2 scores higher (9.7 to 9.6).
Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris is highly popular with luxury travellers seeking world-class gastronomy, thanks to its multiple Michelin-starred dining venues. Guests rate it exceptionally. Outstanding features include signature floral displays by Jeff Leatham and a large subterranean spa with a pool. Note that you must navigate premium pricing on all services and a busy lobby during peak hours.
Why this position: Scores higher than #1 (9.7 to 9.6), on a smaller body of reviews (99 to 252).
Mandarin Oriental, Paris is great for fashionistas looking to shop, due to its prime location on Rue Saint-Honoré. Guest feedback here is outstanding, and the property showcases Art Deco-inspired rooms and a tranquil landscaped inner courtyard garden. Keep in mind that there is premium pricing for dining and drinks, and street-facing rooms pick up traffic noise.
Why this position: Rests on more guest reviews than #2 (202 to 99), at a slightly lower score (9.5 to 9.7).
Shangri-La Paris is ideal for travellers demanding direct, unobstructed views of the Eiffel Tower from their five-star accommodation. Showered with praise by its guests, the hotel stands out for its indoor pool located in former stables and its rich architectural heritage. Guests should note the elevated premium pricing structure and its distance from central shopping districts.
Why this position: The same guest score as #3 (9.5), on a smaller body of reviews (100 to 202).
Hotel de Crillon is highly suitable for discerning guests wanting a historic, high-end stay on the Place de la Concorde. Guests consistently rate it among the very best. Guests enjoy bespoke bathroom finishes, Italian linens, and a subterranean pool. However, parking is subject to premium pricing for valet services, and there is high demand for peak-season spa bookings.
Why this position: The same guest score as #4 (9.5), on a smaller body of reviews (61 to 100).
Le Bristol Paris, Oetker Hotels is highly suitable for food enthusiasts seeking a prestigious central address due to its on-site three-Michelin-starred dining. Guest feedback is exceptional. Guests can enjoy a quiet private garden and a rooftop swimming pool that boasts city views. On the downside, the traditional decor might feel dated to some visitors, and it commands extremely high seasonal room rates.
Why this position: Rests on more guest reviews than #5 (471 to 61), at a slightly lower score (9.2 to 9.5).
The Peninsula Paris is highly suitable for travellers looking for spacious modern comfort near historical landmarks, offering exceptionally large dressing areas and proximity to the Arc de Triomphe. Exceptionally well regarded by guests, it features a 22-yard indoor pool and panoramic rooftop dining. On the negative side, the hotel is located in a bustling tourist area, and you will encounter premium pricing for dining and spa treatments.
Why this position: Scores higher than #6 (9.9 to 9.2), on a smaller body of reviews (36 to 471).
La Réserve Paris Hotel & Spa is perfect for travellers wanting design and pools in one place. Drawing near-perfect guest reviews on Booking.com, this palace hotel was voted the world's best hotel by CNT readers in 2017. It features apartment-style suites with butler service and a full spa, though it commands some of the highest rates in the city. Room prices are not disclosed, but reservations are highly recommended.
Why this position: Rests on more guest reviews than #7 (410 to 36), at a slightly lower score (9.2 to 9.9).
Grand Hôtel Du Palais Royal is ideal for art collectors and museum lovers who appreciate curated fine art and eighteenth-century architecture. It is outstandingly rated by guests and sits steps from the Louvre and Tuileries. Highlights include tailored Holidermie spa treatments. Potential guests should note that entry-level rooms are small and there are limited on-site dining options.
Hôtel Plaza Athénée - Dorchester Collection
Paris, France
Why this position: The same guest score as #8 (9.2), on a smaller body of reviews (227 to 410).
Hôtel Plaza Athénée - Dorchester Collection is highly suitable for fashion-oriented travellers who want to stay on Avenue Montaigne in classical luxury. Rated exceptionally on both Booking.com and Google, it delivers palace-grade service, signature Art Deco interiors, and a Dior Spa partnership. However, guests should be prepared for highly formal etiquette and premium pricing across all services.
Cheval Blanc Paris & Dior Spa Cheval Blanc Paris
Paris, France
Why this position: Scores higher than #9 (9.5 to 9.2), on a smaller body of reviews (94 to 227).
Cheval Blanc Paris & Dior Spa Cheval Blanc Paris is suited for fashion and beauty enthusiasts who want high-end pampering next to the river. Praised to the skies by guests, it features a Dior-branded spa with bespoke treatments, panoramic Seine views, and an expansive heated indoor pool. Drawbacks to consider are premium pricing for wellness services and the necessity of booking reservations well in advance.
Why this position: Rests on more guest reviews than #10 (391 to 94), at a slightly lower score (9.0 to 9.5).
Hotel Montalembert serves as an excellent base for travellers wanting to experience classic Haussmannian architecture in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Highly regarded by guests, the property features elegant interiors alongside on-site spa and wellness facilities. Prospective visitors should keep in mind that the entry-level guest rooms are compact, and lower floors may experience potential street noise.
Why this position: Scores higher than #11 (9.2 to 9.0), on a smaller body of reviews (266 to 391).
Hotel SAX Paris, LXR Hotels & Resorts is well-suited for museum-goers who desire a quiet Left Bank location combined with extensive on-site culinary variety. Backed by glowing guest reviews, it features a year-round outdoor swimming pool and five diverse dining options. However, its distance from Right Bank attractions might be inconvenient, and the lively dining venues can feel busy at times.

Each bar shows how a hotel's nightly price moved over the period, leaving out the most unusual days. The marker is its typical price.
Every hotel counts once, at its own typical price, so hotels we happened to check more often don't carry more weight. Prices are the lowest rate available for the whole stay, worked out per night in euros.

How we chose these hotels
At our latest review (August 2026) the properties listed above were measured against the same standard: sustained guest scores on both Booking.com and Google — weighted by how many reviews sit behind them — five-star class or an equivalent premium level, a genuinely first-rate location, and facilities that set the hotel apart.
As a guideline we look for around 8.5 or higher on Booking.com, but no single number decides on its own — when the sources disagree, the broader evidence wins. Guest scores on this page update continuously, and the selection is re-reviewed at regular intervals. The full standard is described in how we choose hotels.
