The Salzburgerhof is a classic five-star house run by a family, in the middle of Zell am See. Its strengths are easy to list: a spa of more than 3,500 m², an indoor and an outdoor pool, a natural swimming pond in the garden and a private beach on the lake, 500 m away. Guests speak most warmly about the staff and the breakfast, and the location works in both seasons. In winter the hotel's own shuttle runs to the CityXpress and Schmittenhöhe valley stations, the CityXpress gondola is about 400 m away and there is a heated ski cellar with boot dryers. The weak points are smaller but recurring. On hot summer days the air conditioning struggles, half-board guests on longer stays find dinner repetitive, and value for money is the area guests rate least well. Skiers who want a spa hotel near the lifts, and summer guests who come for the lake and golf, will be well looked after.
