Astir Odysseus Kos Resort and Spa is well-suited for active travellers who appreciate extensive pool landscapes and beachfront relaxation. The hotel achieves a Booking.com score of 9.2 based on 595 reviews. Highlights include its expansive lagoon-style sharing pools and diverse recreational facilities like climbing. Note that the shoreline is pebbly, meaning water shoes are required, and the location is far from Kos Town dining.
Guests score it 9.2 out of 10 — the average across the 13 hotels we list in Kos is 9.3.
What Guests Loved
- Many ground-floor rooms offer direct access to the resort's sprawling, interconnected pool network, allowing guests to swim straight from their private terraces into the water.
- The property sits directly on a tranquil stretch of coast, offering a more peaceful sunbathing experience compared to the busier public beaches nearby.
Things to Consider
- While the beach is clean and scenic, the water's edge has patches of pebbles and stones. Guests may want to pack water shoes for a more comfortable entry into the sea.
- Located in the quiet area of Tigaki, the resort is a short drive from Kos Town. Guests seeking varied nightlife or local tavernas will need to rely on taxis or rental cars.

Reviews from Google“We had a lovely time at the Odysseus. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We were well looked after by the staff for our Anniversary meal. The main pool is superb, probably about 50m long. Other pools are dotted around the resort. When we were there there were plenty of beds available. There is an App recommended, but so far as we could see it was only for ordering drinks at the pool. We were happy to walk to the bar and were always served promptly. There are a few stray cats around, but they are not a nuisance and are well cared for, and the hotel works with a local charity to neuter the cats (can be spotted by top of one ear snipped). The only down side for us was that in June certainly the hotel occupancy is probably 40% couples with under-threes and even babes in arms. I don't mind small children but when parents are indulgent (jumping on furniture etc) it grates. So not for a quiet romantic getaway.”
“Family of 5, had an excellent stay. Beautiful hotel, very clean and well kept. Blends in with natural surroundings without being gaudy as it is sometimes the case with big hotels. Spread over a large site so never felt crowded even though it was busy. Staff were all very attentive and polite. Great buffet choice and quality for both breakfast and dinner. Various activities available for all ages. Stargazing night with Michalis was very informative and interesting!”
“Only amazing memories! Stayed here for 7 nights and everything was top notch. The team here really cares and go above and beyond to make your vocation unforgettable. The entertainment team, Momo, isabella, Yara, anastasia and all of them who i dont remember their name, thank you soooo much. And the biggest thanks for the Vivi who is customer relations manager. We had a small issue at the beginning but she not only fixed the problem immediately but also made sure we had an amazing experience throughout our stay. We have stayed in many hotels across the Mediterranean but never met such passionate team. Also must mention that the food was also spectacular. The only complain would be for drinks. Tried couple of moctails but found little on the weaker side but this didn’t bother us much compared to whole positive experience. Looking to stay here again, thanks for everything.”
“We loved our stay at the Astir Odysseus Resort & Spa. Service was great and the staff very friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean and very soundproof. The mattress felt old and not the best quality. We learned the day before we left that we could've asked for a different mattress so it was our fault not to mention it to the staff. The pools are clean with plenty of sun beds and the app they use to order drinks works very well. The hotel is very child friendly and because of that it can get it bit loud at the pools. Entertainment was a bit hit or miss. Some nights were great especially on Friday. Although that was advertised as guitar night and it was a rock performance. We loved it and the singer had such a good voice. A slight let down was the spa. First of all the persistent hassling every day at the pool got old. You can only ask someone if it's their first day so many times. The prices at the spa are extremely high but they offer big discounts if you ask for it. Our group of four decided to book a massage and three of us left happy, although the music kept getting stuck, but the third person had a different massage therapist and had a different experience. But now for the best part the FOOD!! I can say enough good things about the buffet and the staff in the restaurants. We loved the buffet for breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant and I am amazed of the quality and variety. Especially for such a big hotel. Food was always fresh and the ingredients of very high quality. For lunch we went to Argo with a smaller buffet but still plenty of choice and such a nice place to sit. We also had one diner at Argo with amazing food and even better sunset views. On arrival I wasn't sure the hotel felt like a 5* hotel because it gave me more of a 4* feel but the staff and the amazing food bump it up to 5* easily.”
“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Greece! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and at home. A special thank you to all the amazing staff at the buffet restaurant, everyone was so kind, attentive, friendly and always smiling. Their warmth truly made our holiday extra special. The hotel itself is beautiful, very spacious and incredibly well designed. Even during busy times, it never felt crowded thanks to the several pools and large outdoor areas. There was always a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The buffet restaurant was fantastic! We especially loved the authentic local Greek food everything was fresh, delicious and full of flavor. It was such a pleasure to discover traditional dishes every day. Thank you for such a memorable experience. We would happily come back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and welcoming stay in Greece!”
