“Our stay at Hotel Athena was truly remarkable. First of all, the hotel itself is absolutely stunning — the view of the temples is simply unique. The facilities exceeded our expectations in every way: the room and bathroom were excellent, beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. The dinner at the restaurant was a wonderful surprise — the cuisine was truly excellent, far exceeding what we had expected based on previous reviews we had read. It was genuinely one of the highlights of our stay. But above all, it was the team that made this experience truly special. The staff were kind, professional, and always going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. For all these reasons, we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely be back one day. Congratulations on running such a special place!”

“I recently booked two rooms at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for. I booked the presidential suite room 201, and was extremely let down upon arrival. The room was outdated, showing signs of wear and tear that suggested it hadn’t been remodeled in decades. For the hefty price of $2,400 a night, I expected a much more luxurious and not dated room. My other room 101 was actually nicer and 1/2 the price. After expressing my concerns, the staff did offer me a different room 105 that had been remodeled, although it was not a suite. While I appreciated the effort, it was disappointing to have to downgrade when I had specifically booked a suite for that price. They mentioned they would speak to the booking agency regarding the price difference or possibly cover my dinner as compensation. However, at the end of my stay, I was surprised to find that nothing was taken off my bill. The hotel is situated in an amazing location. However, the outdated rooms and the lack of care from the staff left much to be desired. I felt that the staff didn’t prioritize guest satisfaction, which really detracted from the overall stay. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel unless significant changes are made to both the accommodations and the level of service. It’s a shame, as this place has so much potential in such a prime location. Knowing other real luxury resorts are near the area we will just stay there next year. Great job losing a high end customer”

“As a former archaeology scholar, staying at Villa Athena was an absolute dream. Celebrating my birthday in such an extraordinary setting, with the Valley of the Temples right outside, made it very special. “What a location - in the archeological park of the Valley of the Temples! you look straight up at the Temple of Concordia. amazing view. The room was fine - this is not about the room, it’s about the view. The food was fine. i most enjoyed breakfast. we also had lunch and dinner there. so, we sat 6 hours in the restaurant in a 20 hour period. but it has the view! The staff are cold; they do their jobs, but unlike other 5 star resorts, they aren’t joyful about their duties. why should they be? They have no competition. if you want the view, you have to come here. so that leads to the premium you pay for the view. It’s a big premium and is worth it as long as you realize you are not the center of attention. The view is. Most 5 Star experiences are about the guest. This one is not.”

“If you’re staying in Agrigento, you must stay at this hotel. There’s a private entrance to the Valley of the Temples, and you can even buy tickets at the reception, which makes access incredibly easy. Don’t forget to check the sunset time, the view is absolutely breathtaking. All the staff were kind and generous, and thanks to them, we were able to easily get a taxi to the bus terminal. The room was clean and tidy, and they even had a Dyson hair dryer, which was such a nice surprise. One of the most amazing things was being able to see part of the temple while sitting in our room. Staying here felt magical. Having direct access to the Valley of the Temples made everything so special, especially at sunset. Watching the temple glow from our room is something we’ll never forget.”
