Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 29 September 2026 · How we review hotels
This heritage property is best for history lovers who value proximity to Malmö Central Station. Well rated by guests on Booking.com and Google, the hotel features historic 14th-century architectural elements. Guests can enjoy breakfast served in medieval vaulted cellars and dine at the on-site Vietnamese fusion restaurant. However, travellers should note that the historic nature of the building means rooms come with varied sizes and layouts, and there is limited parking in the city centre.
Guests score it 8.7 out of 10 — the average across the 4 hotels we list in Malmö is 8.6.
What Guests Loved
- The building dates back to the 1300s and once housed Swedish royalty, with many rooms retaining original details such as heavy, exposed wooden ceiling beams that emphasize its heritage.
- Located just 150 meters from Malmö Central Station, the hotel allows guests to reach international train connections and the historic Stortorget Square within a few minutes' walk.
Things to Consider
- Due to the constraints of the 14th-century structure, certain rooms are more compact than modern standards. Guests requiring extra space should consider booking superior or deluxe room categories.
- While the hotel offers private parking, spaces are restricted and must be pre-booked. The central location also means navigating narrow streets that can be challenging during peak hours.
Should you book it?
Book it if you want
- Travellers wanting design and good food in one place
- Guests who pick a hotel for its restaurants
- Travellers who notice architecture and interiors
