Reviews from Google“We had such a lovely stay at Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, which made a big difference. The hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the sea views were beautiful. There was always a good choice of food, and we especially enjoyed relaxing by the pool and walking along the beach. It was the perfect place to switch off and enjoy a stress-free holiday. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special especially Fotoulla head waiter❤️❤️❤️ we’ll definitely be back🤗”
“Although the hotel’s review request email says, “Your opinion matters - and we read every comment with care!”, my experience has left me unconvinced. We have just returned from a 10-night stay at the Cypria Maris. Overall, we had a lovely holiday, but there were several aspects of our stay that were disappointing. Firstly, the floor in our room did not appear to have been cleaned properly. After walking around barefoot for only a short time, the soles of our feet would be black. Secondly, my flip-flops disappeared from the side of the swimming pool after I had left them next to my other half’s footwear, which was still there when we returned. I reported this to Reception immediately, who called a member of the Guest Relations team. I felt the matter was handled dismissively. In my view, theft is theft, whether it involves a £20-30 pair of Havaianas or something far more valuable. I followed up the next day with Tamara from Guest Relations, but unfortunately I came away with the same impression. I don’t know whether this reflects the hotel’s general approach to these situations, but I certainly didn’t feel my concerns were taken seriously. We also ate at the on-site Greek restaurant, where we were served raw pork souvlaki. After we had stopped eating, we felt we were left waiting some time before a member of staff came over to speak to us. They apologised, which we appreciated, and offered us dessert. We politely declined because we no longer felt comfortable eating anything else. Despite this, dessert was still brought to our table. When checking out, we were not asked how our stay had been or whether we had any feedback, which was surprising. That is the reason I am leaving this review here instead. On two separate mornings we were woken by someone knocking on our room door. On one occasion, the cleaner told us we needed to be up earlier if we wanted our room cleaned. We found this disappointing and not what we would expect from a four-star hotel that is part of a large international brand. One thing we also noticed was what felt like an element of “band-ism”. Guests wearing the purple wristbands, which are available as a premium drinks upgrade at €30 per person, per day, appeared to receive a different level of attention. As guests with the standard yellow wristbands, we were left with the impression that we were treated less favourably on some occasions. Of course, this was simply our perception, but it did detract from our overall experience. This was particularly disappointing as we have previously stayed at a Leonardo Hotel in the UK and had an excellent experience, with no such issues. We therefore expected a similar standard of service at Cypria Maris. Despite all of the above, we did have a lovely holiday. It is just a shame that these issues detracted from what could otherwise have been an excellent stay.”
“Such an amazing vacation!! We stayed for 3 nights in a Premium room on the 5th floor at the end of May in this adults only hotel. We had such an incredible experience at this hotel - from the views, to the spacious room we got, the food, the drinks, the pools, the activities at night and above all - the service. Each and every one of the employees was so friendly, charming and kind. The food was VERY good: the main buffet is very generous, diverse and delicious, and the greek restaurant is delicious and the atmosphere there is amazing, with some live music in the background. The alcoholic options at the bars are very diverse and with great quality. The pools are vary spacious and so fun, as they are located in a beatiful place by the beach and the view is amazing. The only thing I would improve is the bar\club - it has such great potential and the venue is very nice, but the music ends at midnight. I would have preferred that it would last longer, and also make the vibe more party-like, i.e. playing some more club music rather than calm music. Would definitely come back!!”
“We would strongly advise others to think twice before booking this hotel. Our stay at Leonardo Plaza Cypria Maris Beach Hotel & Spa was full of problems from the moment we arrived. When we checked in, there was no hot water in the room. The room telephone didn’t work either. We asked the reception to fix it four separate times, and it was never repaired. The weather during our stay was extremely hot, but the air conditioning in our room was very weak. We woke up sweating every single night. We reported the issue three times, and each time we were told it had been fixed, but nothing actually changed. The biggest disappointment was the food. My wife is vegan, and before booking we contacted the hotel several times to make sure vegan options would be available. We were assured there would be suitable choices. In reality, some meals offered nothing more than rice, potatoes, and a single salad. Even worse, the specialty restaurants included in the all-inclusive package had no vegan main dishes at all. If you’re vegan, do not rely on what the hotel promises. During our stay there were also two power outages, the TV stopped working and was never repaired despite reporting it. The final incident was the most stressful. The day before our departure, we asked reception to arrange a taxi for 7:30 a.m. because our flight was at 10:00. We were told there was no need to book in advance and that we should simply come to reception about 10 minutes before leaving. We arrived early, only to be told that the driver didn’t even start work until 8:00 a.m., so we had no choice but to wait. This caused a significant delay on our way to the airport and nearly made us miss our flight. It’s unfortunate because the hotel itself looks nice, but the repeated maintenance failures, poor communication, lack of promised vegan food, and complete disregard for issues reported by guests made this one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.”
“Amazing experience! Local from Paphos and just wanted to change my routine and stay in a hotel. Leonardo hotels are so welcoming, highly recommend the stay! Excellent food, drinks and of course none stop entertainment. The most beautiful experience are two people that made us feel so comfortable! Marina that works at reception not only welcomes you with a huge smile but comforts you with laughs and gives you all you need to know about your holiday experience. Then there is Fotoula head waitress at the main restaurant, she has a beautiful charisma that makes you feel like you are honestly on holiday even though we are from the same city. Sometimes the most important experience is not the destination but the people! Thank you so much!”
