Layana Resort & Spa is built for couples who want the beach and very little else. It is an adults-only hotel for guests aged 18 and over on Long Beach, Koh Lanta, and the pools sit just above the sand, so the day moves easily between a lounger, the water and the spa. The resort faces west, which makes the sunset the evening ritual, and guests come back to the same points again and again: kind, attentive staff, a strong breakfast and grounds that are kept spotless. The calm comes with a few trade-offs. Krabi International Airport is 77 km away, and outside the high season Koh Lanta is a very quiet island, so this is not a base for nightlife. Some guests found the spa expensive for what it offered, and the rooms are not fully soundproof. Couples, honeymooners and anyone marking an occasion will find a peaceful, well-run beach resort; families with children need to look elsewhere.

- The resort faces west across the Andaman Sea, so the hotel beach is where guests gather for the sunset. They describe the sand in front of the hotel as clean and well tended, with Long Beach stretching out on either side.
- Staff are praised in almost every stay, from the welcome at check-in to the evening restaurant team. Several guests mention that the manager greets guests personally, and couples on honeymoons or renewing their vows describe the team arranging the details for them.

- A few guests heard neighbours and conversations in the corridor late at night, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs or ask for a quieter room.
- Value for money is the point guests are least enthusiastic about. Some found the spa treatments expensive for what they offered, room service closes fairly early, and the restaurant has a dress code in the evening.
