La Solaya Khao Lak suits travellers who want a fresh, modern hotel right on the beach with plenty of life within walking distance. It sits on Bang Niang Beach, and guests rate the location very highly: restaurants, bars, cafés, a 7-Eleven and the market are only minutes away. They speak most warmly about the pools, especially the one facing the sea with its swim-up bar, the comfortable, well-planned rooms, the friendly staff and a breakfast with a wide choice. Families also praise the facilities for children. Being recently reopened, the hotel still has a few teething problems, from bathroom details to slippery pool surfaces. In high season the sunbeds by the sea go early, and dinner and cocktails do not quite match the breakfast. One guest also found it a little large and impersonal.
