Kempinski Hotel Das Tirol is built for guests who want the mountains first and the town second. It stands in Jochberg, about 7 km south of Kitzbühel, with direct access to the KitzSki slopes in winter and the Hausleiten lift about 100 m away, while in summer more than 200 km of hiking trails start at the door. Guests speak most warmly about the service, the breakfast and the 3,600 m² spa, and families value the Kempinski Kids Club and the spacious, air-conditioned rooms. The location that makes skiing so easy also has a downside: Kitzbühel's restaurants and bars are a drive away, so evenings out need a car, a taxi or the hotel's limousine. Some guests found parts of the hotel and their room dated, and families in summer noted that the outdoor pool can be cold. Skiers, hikers and families who plan to spend their days on the mountain and their evenings in the spa will find it a very convenient base.
