The five-star hotel sits at the gate of the medieval centre, with boutiques and cafés a few steps away and the Hahnenkammbahn about 400 m off, and the hotel shuttle runs skiers to the valley station on request. Guests speak most warmly about the location, the first-class breakfast and the friendly staff, and they value the indoor pool, the spa and the ski lockers. The trade-offs are real, though.
