The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort occupies a private island in the Dhaalu Atoll, set on nine hectares of lush tropical gardens and powdery white sand and surrounded by a turquoise lagoon. The resort is reached by a 45-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport (MLE).
Personalised St. Regis Butler Service is available for all rooms. The 77 spacious villas and suites each come with a private pool, iPad room controls and floor-to-ceiling windows. The rooms also include a walk-in closet, a private terrace and a Bang & Olufsen BeoVision TV with international channels. The marble bathrooms come with a freestanding bathtub, a rainforest shower and signature toiletries. Every villa category has a minibar stocked with nonalcoholic drinks, and Wi-Fi is free.
Six dining venues serve Italian, Chinese, Japanese kaiseki-style, Middle Eastern and other international cuisine, including a pop-up restaurant, an overwater tapas bar and wine dinners at the Decanter cellar. Guests can also arrange island picnics, floating rituals and more. Halal food is available.
Set over the water, Iridium Spa has six treatment rooms, two of them dedicated to Ayurveda treatments. Each visit is tailored to the guest, from traditional rituals to caviar treatments. The spa also includes The Blue Hole, a large hydrotherapy pool.
Other services and facilities include acupuncture, meditation, anti-gravity yoga, a children's club, indoor games at the Socialite Club, an outdoor main pool, an outdoor tennis court and a library.
In addition to diving, snorkelling and windsurfing, the resort offers jet skiing, sea bobbing, glass-bottom kayaking, parasailing and a luxury yacht, Norma, available for charter.
