Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 2 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Marasca Samui is a small resort for travellers who want to be on the beach and in the middle of Chaweng at the same time. It is newly built, with a clean, minimalist design and landscaped gardens that lead straight onto Chaweng Beach, and the shops, restaurants and bars of the town are a short walk away. Guests talk most about the staff, who come across as warm and attentive, about spotless rooms and careful attention to detail, and about a breakfast of carefully prepared plated dishes. The central location brings noise with it. Music from the pool area and nearby beach clubs carries through the day, and the airport is 1 km away, so planes are part of the soundtrack. There is no gym, the breakfast menu is fairly short and some pool seating costs extra. Couples and honeymooners who want design, service and a lively setting will feel at home; anyone after silence should look further along the coast.
Guests score it 9.2 out of 10 — the average across the 12 hotels we list on Koh Samui is 9.4.
What Guests Loved
- The resort sits directly on Chaweng Beach, and guests like that the restaurants, shops and bars of central Chaweng are only a couple of minutes' walk away. The tide can make swimming less inviting at times, which guests put down to the beach rather than the hotel.
- The staff are praised in review after review for being friendly, welcoming and quick to help. Honeymooners mention that the team knew about the occasion and made a point of marking it.
Things to Consider
- The resort sits among Chaweng's beach clubs, so music from the pool area and nearby venues carries through much of the day. Samui International Airport is 1 km away and planes can be heard, and a room next to a service door picked up staff coming and going.
- There is no gym, which several guests missed, and some seating sections in the pool area carry an extra charge even for hotel guests. A few found the wifi unreliable, and guests note that this is a small property rather than a sprawling resort.
Should you book it?
Marasca Samui is worth booking for couples and honeymooners who value design and personal service — but pick somewhere else if you want a quiet retreat away from music and flight paths.
