“The team at the mandarin Ritz were wonderful. They made the trip feel so special (from the warm and welcoming team at reception to the spa and restaurant staff - everyone was friendly and super professional). The dinner in the garden restaurant was a standout and the bar staff made the perfect martini. Finally our rooms with a balcony view were amazing. Made me want to return soon and be very grateful I am a ‘fan’. I recommend everyone become a member”

“Our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid was unfortunately overshadowed by two significant issues. First, we experienced a leak in our room that required us to change rooms unexpectedly during our stay. Because of the urgency, the hotel staff moved our belongings for us. While the replacement room was comfortable, it was noticeably smaller and not of the same quality as the room we had originally booked. Despite the disruption and downgrade in accommodations, we were not offered any compensation or gesture of goodwill. Second, after checking out, we discovered that approximately $400–500 USD had been stolen from our room. This was kept in a case, within a bag, within the closet. We notified the hotel as soon as we realized the money was missing, which unfortunately for us wasn’t until we checked out of the Ritz. Their initial response was to question us why we didn’t notify them sooner, and requested a detailed breakdown of our timeline (which I provided). While we understand these situations can be difficult to investigate, we were disappointed that no compensation or good will was provided, especially when combined with the leak we dealt with. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the amenities and service in many respects were excellent. However, these two experiences significantly impacted our stay and ultimately left us with a negative impression of what should have been a memorable visit. I feel like some sort of refund or compensation should have been provided.”

“The Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid beautifully balances restoration and reinvention, clearly drawing inspiration from iconic properties like The Ritz London and Ritz Paris while still feeling deeply connected to Madrid and Spanish culture. Visiting the property itself felt like part of the experience, particularly seeing how the historic palace setting has been restored while preserving the intricate ceilings, grand doors, ornate detailing, and artistic inspirations linked to Museo del Prado and El Retiro Park. The hotel also pays tribute to Spanish creativity through its different spaces and outlets, each carrying its own personality. The Champagne Bar remains an elegant, timeless centerpiece, while venues like Palm Court at Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid and Deessa bring a more contemporary energy to the hotel. Lunch at Deessa featured the Chronos menu, which combined technical precision with playful presentation. The experience began with bread service alongside a warm potato based broth served during the amuse bouche sequence. The Migas of Mama Mari followed, presented as a crispy tomato shell filled with tomato mayonnaise, coated in dehydrated tomato powder, and balanced with subtle vinegar notes. The next course, Cold Beetroot and Dill Soup, Kefir Ice Cream and Salmon, paired earthy chilled beetroot soup with dill oil, kefir ice cream, and cured salmon. Seafood was showcased through Sole Fish with “Beurre Blanc” and Aged Sake”, a delicate and refined dish with subtle olive oil accents and translucent garnish. The main savory course, Mellow Albufera Rice with Red Peppers Roasted in a Wood Fire Oven, highlighted smoky Valencian flavors through creamy rice and intensely roasted peppers. Dessert, titled Rare Flowers, combined mango and lychee based components with floral notes, edible flowers, creamy textures, and a delicate rice paper crisp. The petits fours concluded the meal beautifully with hazelnut mousse topped with brandy foam, a goat cheese confection shaped like a glossy red fruit, and an apple filled sweet with a crisp meringue like exterior. Service throughout the experience was very good, with strong attention to detail and thoughtful pacing between courses. While the overall lunch progression felt somewhat prolonged at times, it still remained an enjoyable and polished dining experience.”

“Always wonderful! Excellent service and cozy rooms, right in the city center. Great for weekend getaways or work trips. I love the high tea! Food and drinks are always above parr. Strongly recommend booking the high tea. Spa and the pool never disappoint. Great spa and services to help you unwind after a busy day. It is all Very clean and staff service is excellent. Bathrooms could be a bit larger and more lux, but ok. We will be back, as always. Strongly recommend!”

“This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. I’m usually a Four Seasons guy but my stay here has made me question that decision. The staff was amazing and essentially became friends with my five year old daughter. She asked me if we could live there! This is the first MO property and certainly will not be my last.”
