Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam

“We had a fantastic stay at the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium in Amsterdam. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are excellent, and the overall quality of the property is exactly what you would expect from a top hotel. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, professional, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Even when we had a small issue with Netflix not working in the room, the team went out of their way to support us and try to get it sorted. That level of care and attention makes a big difference and really added to the experience. Great location, beautiful rooms, excellent service, and a genuinely high-quality hotel. We would happily stay again and would definitely recommend it.”

“This was once a music school. Floors 7-8 remind me of going to music practice myself and not in a good way especially compared to the enormous atrium and doors on the other floors. Luckily I had the privilege to stay in a corner suite at the end of the hall overlooking a quiet street. The lobby is loud due to the acoustics. The spa is wonderful, both the hamam and sauna are stunning and spacious. The jacuzzi spa is probably 94 degrees Fahrenheit which would only be interesting to children. Luckily I had a deep soaking tub in my room. The rooms are spacious but the sheets are not soft by any means and the lights flicker due to the poor electrical. The breakfast buffet is extensive, be sure to come hungry. the best thing about the hotel is the proximity to the van gogh museum and luxury shopping, and tram stop. I have stayed in countless luxury hotels around the world. There is nothing impressive nor memorable about the experience other than the gorgeous building itself and its location. The staff is kind and helpful for the most part but could use more hospitality training. I may be critical but when spending $800+ I expect everything to be pristine.”

“As I type this, we are sitting in our room... the staff just left after coming by with a special gift of appreciation and joy. My husband and I (a couple who found love later in life) are here for our honeymoon. We arrived to find our loft-style space joyfully decorated complete with rose petals and a framed print from our wedding.... all carefully arranged by Maryam. And... that was just the beginning of a wonderful experience. From amazing meals in the on-site restaurant to impeccable support from the doorman (Gideon) every moment of our visit has been thoughtful and comprised of memories to last a lifetime. As you can see from the photos included, the hotel is beautifully appointed and in our case, two-story windows overlook the museum district with the works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, and Van Gogh just a few steps away. Originally a music conservatory, the property honors history while integrating the lights and colors of all that is modern. As an art director and retired chef, we can not recommend this hotel and the people who are the heart of it all, highly enough. If you are looking for a place that feels home-like while exploring all that is new... or a place to recharge in today's challenging business environment, you will find all you need (and more) here at the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium.”

“Very bad service! My friend stayed a week in the hotel. 3 rooms. We celebrated her birthday and all the presents we gave her were handed to the concierge to be placed in the room… gone!! All gifts we picked for her… she left back home without them. And to make it worse the hotel forget the wake-up call this morning!!”

“EXCELLENT staff, room, restaurants, location. We felt special and appreciated. Upon arrival we were greeted by Lourdes behind the desk counter. Lourdes is a jewel, the hotel is lucky to have her working for them The senior concierge, whose name unfortunately slips me, is an elegant person who was patient and generous with her time and attention, very helpful. My wife and I honestly think that this was the best hotel experience of our lives”
