Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

By Axel Hernborg · Updated 30 August 2026 · How we review hotels

For travellers who prioritise beachside convenience, Landmar Playa La Arena delivers a practical coastal stay. It achieves a Booking.com score of 9 based on 984 reviews, alongside a Google rating of 4.6 from 7313 reviews. The resort sits just steps from the volcanic La Arena beach and provides balconies in every guest room alongside four pools. A notable drawback is that parking requires an additional daily fee, and the popular pools can become crowded.

Situated on Tenerife's sun-drenched Santiago del Teide Coast, Landmar Playa La Arena offers sophisticated comfort right beside the area's famous black-sand beaches. The property blends active wellness facilities with diverse dining, making it a reliable choice for families and couples seeking a classic Canary Islands resort experience.

Guests score it 9 out of 10 — the average across the 12 hotels we list in Tenerife is 8.9.

This is our first time (me, wife, daughter) to this hotel and we were NOT disappointed. It is beautiful from the outside but when you walk in the size of the hotel is amazing. We did get here late but the staff were perfect 👌 and nothing mattered ad long ad we were happy. The food was amazing and like you would expect so much to choose from plus the staff are always there to help and get you what drink 🍸 you wanted. The best part of our stay were the pool entertainment team, they are brilliant and SO nice. They got everyone involved but made it safe but are so funny ( they need a big pay rise). The evening entertainment was brilliant aswell, from rock night to flower power it was brilliant 👏. The room was what you need but could do with more mirrors so wife and daughter could get ready easier. This holiday was i say my best so far, great hotel, AMAZING staff, brilliant time and GREAT memories. Thank you.

Enjoyed a lovely holiday here! Atmosphere was class, everyone was relaxed and enjoying themselves, the hotel had a great but tranquil vibe. Never had any issues with overpopulation. All inclusive option was great and provided everything we could’ve wanted. It’s worth noting that the location, while beautiful, isn’t prime for activities or excursions without a car but we knew this beforehand and were pleased to find the hotel has an experience booking team to assist you onsite. Staff were hugely accommodating with our abnormal arrival and departure times. I’ve already recommended to family and would not be surprised at all if we were back in the future.

Hi, stayed from 22nd July 2026 for 10 nights with my wife and 17 year old son; and what can I say, but simply fantastic! Staff, rooms, food, pools, drinks, entertainment, bars and inside/outside areas, to enjoy the evening, are exceptional. The staff employed are beyond great, they do so much for you and with such professionalism and enthusiasm. A special thank you to Rene and his falcon Jose who truly made my stay. I did become unwell the last 2 nights, but this had nothing to do with Landmar. What I can say is the reception staff dealt with the issue promptly and professionally, which helped enormously, and alleviated a lot of stress - thank you and for the support since. We will be back soon. Feisal

Stayed at this wonderful hotel in June...it did not disappoint! Beautiful lobby full of lush greenery, friendly staff throughout, and the standards of cleanliness we're immaculate. The all inclusive option was great, lots of choice on the buffet, food available at the pool bar and Al a Carte options too. Plenty of good drinks too. Fabulous entertainment day and night - the entertainment staff really stood out, they were fantastic! No pressure to get involved if you didn't want to (I couldn't due to disabilities but never felt left out). Having the quieter pool is a bonus if you just want to relax. The hotel is so spacious, plenty of sun loungers available around the pool. Can't fault it and can see why many people return

Booked here for a week all inclusive - was absolutely fabulous!! The buffet is varied every meal and every day, as a fussy eater even I had options and tried some new things. The food really is absolutely delicious. All inclusive drink options include cocktail slushies. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea and the multiple pools. The entertainment team worked really hard every single day and an extra special shout out to Irene for making the games extra fun and convincing us to compete. We rented a Balinese bed for the day and it was completely worth the money. There is also a recreation area with a full tennis court, mini golf, archery, ping pong, and boules all for free to use. I would stay here 1000 times over. Thank you
