“We stayed at Villa del Re for our honeymoon and overall had a lovely stay. The hotel is beautiful, the pool is fantastic, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is peaceful, making it a great place to relax. The only downside was the pricing, which we found excessive even for a luxury hotel. We understand paying a premium, but the prices felt completely out of proportion. The cheapest bottle of wine on the menu was around €80, even though many of those same wines cost less than €10 at local supermarkets. The same applied to many of the food and drink prices. We also had one experience that left a bad impression. One afternoon, the umbrellas around the pool were closed because of the wind. We asked the front desk if there was another comfortable place where we could spend the afternoon, and the solution offered was a gazebo that cost an additional €100, even though it was already around 2 p.m. and only a few hours of the day remained. It felt like there was always another extra charge instead of a customer-focused solution. Overall, we really enjoyed our honeymoon and the hotel itself is beautiful. However, the pricing policy took away from what could have been a perfect experience.”

“Tears are forming as I write this already because of how incredible our stay at La Villa del Re was. From the breathtaking location, to the mouthwatering food, and staff that feels like family by the end of your stay, you must book this hotel if you want to experience world class hospitality and relaxation. Unique and local menu options introduce your pallet to flavors you only read about. Michelin-like tastings explore the sea, land, and everything in between. Notable options included a prawn risotto with popcorn which plays on different textures and flavor profiles, a “burnt sun” dessert incorporating a cheese-filled pastry drizzled in fresh honey served with vanilla ice cream, and a suckling pig roasted over an open fire for 6 hours - offered every Thursday. The world class Sommeliers make certain to recommend the finest wines to accompany each bite you ingest. A special shoutout to our friends Matteo, Giada, Laura, Salvadore, Davide, Luca, and Adrian - they made our experience a level above anything we could have hoped for. They take the time to get to know you and explain the Sardinian culture and what you’re experiencing from food to wine tasting and more. Our wine tasting in the property’s wine cellar felt like we were in a private wine collector’s villa that you would only see in a movie. The collection offers over 1,500 world wines to pick from and Salvadore and his team are very flexible with preferences and offer professional guidance and detailed explanations of every wine from unique qualities to production processes and recommendations of food pairings off a delicious charcuterie platter that is served on the table. Not often do you feel a true bond with a new place, let alone a hotel, but La Villa del Re is an exception. If you are hankering to explore off property, the idyllic beach town of Costa Rei is only a 5 minute drive and offers exceptional local and fresh cuisine where friendly service continues (check out Chaplin if you do this). For any golfers, a world-class course sits 20 minutes called Tanka Golf Club from the property offering breathtaking views and challenging holes to up your game. We cannot wait to return to this paradise of a property and re-experience what felt like a dream.”

“An absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Villa del Re exceeded expectations in every way, stunning accommodations, beautiful grounds, amazing food, and a level of service that truly stood out throughout the stay. The team went above and beyond to make our trip special, and it became one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. A special thank you to Fabio and the staff for the care, professionalism, and attention to detail shown during our visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxury experience in Sardinia. Already looking forward to coming back.”

“This is the only honest review you need to read about this hotel. The beach is full of seaweed, both on the shore and in the water, and it is not being cleaned. The beach looks nothing like the photos. The sun loungers are the cheapest type possible — not even cushioned, like you would normally expect in an average 3-star hotel. This is not a new hotel, and it feels like very little has been invested in maintaining or improving it. The prices are extremely high, while the investment in the property seems minimal. I have never felt so disappointed and misled by a hotel. I paid €1,500 for just two nights, expecting at least something that would justify the price. It didn’t. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in Sardinia. Even if it were twice times cheaper, I still would not recommend it. The property is very small, and getting there is expensive. Most guests are 60+, the kind of clientele who are unlikely to complain or demand much. People arrive, but hardly anyone swims in the sea or even uses the pool. I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would choose this place intentionally. I booked it because I read so many positive reviews, which now seems very strange to me. For the same money, you can stay in genuinely luxurious hotels. Instead, here you get a small property that feels like it should cost no more than €250 per night, yet charges €750–1,000. On top of that, expect to spend another €300 per day on lunch and dinner. I'm not a greedy person, I'm ready to pay a lot, but I want everything to be worth a fair price. If this review helps even one person save their money, it will have served its purpose. a taxi or transfer from the airport costs around €140 each way And one final detail: in your room, you’ll be welcomed not by a coffee machine, but by a few sachets of Nescafé pockets.”

“We had a great stay at La Villa Del Re. The room (a bit on a small side) was clean and with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has very nice beach. We also really liked both breakfast and dinner options. There are two restaurants: Bella Vista Grill (casual) and Le Palme (formal). All food was delicious, the highlight of our evening meals was lamb at Le Palme and grilled Sea Bass at the Grill.”
