As someone who travels frequently and has stayed at many of the world’s leading luxury properties, I’m sorry to say that my recent stay at Hotel Pitrizza fell well short of the standard I expect from a hotel of its caliber. The overall service level needs considerable attention. Room service was disappointing, and housekeeping was inconsistent — I never received turndown service, and the fruit left in my room was spoiled. The towels provided were not clean. Service in the beach area was equally underwhelming. The dining experience was a particular weak point. At breakfast, the staff appeared under-trained: my orders were repeatedly forgotten, requiring me to remind them more than once, and when the food finally arrived, it was frequently cold. The food itself was acceptable but unremarkable. This level of service might impress the American tourist, who is often accustomed to a lower standard, but it should not be the benchmark for a property of this standing. Measured against the genuine luxury hotels of the world, the experience was a real disappointment — and a guest from Kuwait, accustomed to a far higher standard of hospitality, expects considerably more.

The service, the rooms and food are exceptional. The attention to detail from the breakfast spread to making sure your room is ready to relax into bed, the staff at Pitrizza are so welcoming and truly make the experience amazing. Kid friendly which is a plus. A lovely experience overall with stunning views. A wonderful time!

The hotel staff are sooo nice! In general, Italians are very good hosts! The main thing from the hotel was the staff for sure. If you are looking for a quiet place this could be your place. The bedroom was not updated yet, I heard some of the rooms are getting updated but even though it was quite charming the old school style. Thank you for making my stay very welcome. 7 stars to the staff.

We came here at the height of travel season (August 1) and were not able to receive the Amex upgrade. We were placed near the beach/restaurant area and by the pool. The room was very small. It had a tiny television which hung with all of its wires dangling like it was the back of some Verizon store. Surprising considering how they price these rooms. One night is about 1 month's rent for a lower end 1BR in NYC. You'd think a working television would be the basic if not the most irrelevant item of furnishing. However, when something is broken or an eye sore it becomes extremely important and can ruin the entire aesthetic of the room. Ruin the aesthetic it did. I hated seeing those bulky hideous black wires against a bright turquoise tiled wall. The room service was impressive and diligent, our room was serviced 4x a day - so again, how was this not remedied? Overall you are here for the location - right on the beach. The only comparable hotel in Porto Cervo is Cala di Volpe, which is also a 5 star hotel, but with a gauche "look at me" clientele. I chose this location because I expected luxury without the pretentious tourists. I was left lacking for the luxury. The guests are international, I didn't see any Americans or Italians, who presumably choose more laid back options. The inclusive breakfast was good, but bees swarm you as soon as you have food, and they only had two table fans for the entire hotel for the tables. (Absurd) Even knowing what you're getting, the markup here would be shocking if I didn't live in NYC. A bottle of water that's 1.50 is 16.00. An Ichnusa (local beer) which is 3.50 everywhere else was 18.00. I mean it's just ridiculous at that point. Sit down food is good, beachside is one step above inedible. I ordered a Caesar salad for 50, and it came in all of its glory with some lettuce and sad chicken bits. It was the saddest salad I've ever seen or tasted. I'm mentioning prices not because of expense but because of the failure to measure up to the gauging. Staff was hot and cold; the old school gentlemen were incredible, and are a gem to this property, with some being there over 40 years. The younger staff, particularly the girls, should perhaps invest in a hospitality course.

Disappointed... breakfast with packaged, industrialized products, few cheese options, breakfast like a 3-star hotel perhaps... insects in the rooms, ants and spiders, bees and flies... get used to it, you'll have to live with these little friends!!! Old facilities, URGENTLY in need of renovation!!! Friendly staff and beautiful views. In case of bad weather you won't have anything to do, because the hotel offers NO entertainment and no spa worthy of a 5-star hotel, only massages and a gym! Hotel that has stopped in time!!! If you want a vacation with a good breakfast and to enjoy the hotel, don't come!!!!
