Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
Tripplo’s analysis · Updated 3 October 2026 · How we review hotels
Hotel Lilla Roberts is for travellers who want a hotel with personality in a quiet corner of central Helsinki. The Art Deco interiors set the tone, and guests keep returning to the same details: rooms that are spacious and cleverly designed, comfortable beds, thick towels and no street noise. Breakfast is praised for its quality and variety, the staff are warm and attentive, and free bicycles and a 24-hour gym add to the stay. Kaartinkaupunki keeps the harbour, the ferries and much of the centre within walking distance. The drawbacks are small but practical. Rooms can be warm in summer, some have a shower over the bath that is awkward to climb into, and the safe is set low in the wardrobe. Courtyard rooms trade a view for silence. Couples and city breakers who value design and calm will feel at home; guests with limited mobility should check the bathroom before booking.
Guests score it 8.9 out of 10 — the average across the 12 hotels we list in Helsinki is 9.1.

Things to Consider
- Some guests found their room too warm in summer and felt the air conditioning struggled to cool it.
- In some rooms the shower is inside the bathtub, which guests found awkward to step in and out of, and several mention that the safe sits so low in the wardrobe that you have to kneel to use it.
