Hansar Samui Resort & Spa suits guests who want the beach and a lively village within the same few minutes. It sits on Bophut Beach, less than 500 metres from Fisherman's Village, so mornings can be spent at the pool by the sand and evenings at the night market or a restaurant along the street. Guests speak most warmly about the staff, the beachside breakfast and the spacious sea-view rooms, and the spa is a further draw. The trade-offs come with the resort's popularity. At busy times the pool area fills up, loungers are hard to find, and some guests noticed that the resort feels more family than honeymoon in the evenings. The open bathroom design will not suit everyone, and steps lead down to the beach. Couples and families who want a polished, well-located base will be well looked after; those after seclusion should look further along the coast.
