Hacienda del Conde Meliá Collection is for adults who want to get away from it all. Only guests aged 16 and over can stay, and the hotel sits on its own at Buenavista del Norte, beside the golf course and below the Teno massif, with the Atlantic in front. Guests praise the warm staff, the large, spotless rooms with sea views and a breakfast they call superb. A spa with a sauna and hot tub, a pool open all year and quiet evenings with soft jazz set the pace. The seclusion cuts both ways. The nearest town is a drive away, so a car is close to essential, and some guests found a few nights enough.
