Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

By Axel Hernborg · Updated 30 August 2026 · How we review hotels

Elysium is best for heritage-loving travellers wanting five-star luxury next to historical ruins. A 9.6 booking score from 2,895 reviews and a 4.8 Google rating across 2687 reviews highlight its appeal. Standout features include direct access to a private beach cove, Byzantine-inspired architectural details, and a multi-level pool with hydrotherapy. Note that popularity causes crowded breakfast times, and the beach is relatively small and rocky.

Situated along the historic coast of Paphos, the Elysium blends Byzantine-inspired grandeur with the relaxed elegance of a Mediterranean resort. Its prime location next to ancient archaeological sites and its extensive wellness facilities make it a refined choice for both couples and families. The property successfully pairs cultural depth with seaside relaxation.

Guests score it 9.6 out of 10 — the average across the 10 hotels we list in Paphos is 9.2.

The 30-second verdict

  • Positioned directly next to this UNESCO World Heritage site, the hotel allows history enthusiasts to explore ancient archaeological wonders just a short walk from their rooms.
  • Guests can transition seamlessly from the manicured gardens to a secluded cove, where complimentary loungers and attentive service elevate the seaside experience.

Should you book it?

Elysium is worth booking for history enthusiasts wanting to explore ancient archaeological sites — but pick somewhere else if you dislike busy, crowded breakfast dining rooms.

Book this hotel!! I will give this a 10/10. Customer service is amazing. All the team genuinely are kind, friendly and make you feel important. Fontas is so polite and helpful gentleman. I wanted to say bye but we missed him as we had a very early flight. I stayed last week with my son at room 1221. I am very particular about cleanliness, but I could not fault a thing in my room. Everything was pristine. Housekeeping were attentive and would respond to any requests with a smile. I love how they come and reset the rooms in the evening. Breakfast spread is delicious, I couldn't decide what to eat - so that will be an issue 🤭 the team by the pool deserve a mention as their service is amazing. They are so attentive and make you feel special. I was pleased that they hotel also cater for halal meat and chicken. This meant we could dine inside the hotel for dinner and enjoy the experience. Thank you to the amazing team, we for sure will be back again!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Luxury Hotel with Truly Exceptional Staff We had a fantastic stay at the Elysium. The hotel, pool and service are all first class, but the staff really make this place special. A massive thank you to Paris, who was absolutely fantastic around the pool. He made our days completely effortless — attentive, friendly and always one step ahead. Paris is a huge credit to the hotel. And Fondas at Concierge deserves a very special mention too. The main man! His knowledge, helpfulness and genuine care were outstanding. A real asset to the Elysium. Also a big thank you to Fahim, Vivek, Rafiella, Leon and Mike — all fantastic, with Mike being a real credit to the front-of-house team. Breakfast was excellent, with Alla, Iannis and all the ladies always so welcoming. And finally, a huge thank you to all the housekeeping fairies 🧚‍♀️ — outstanding work morning and evening. Paris and Fondas, you both made our stay extra special. You are a huge credit to the Elysium. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ OvericeBusinessConsultants

Absolutely lovely hotel - room was clean and spacious and we had a lovely view of the pool and sea. I am gluten free and the staff were amazing! Andreas in the restaurant accompanied me at every meal to meet the chef who talked me through everything I could eat - which was loads and a great variety and also offered to cook me anything I might want if not on their menu that night! Best hotel I’ve been to for food that I can actually eat and feel normal! Yannis was one of the waiters and his knowledge of wines was impeccable. His service was also first class. All the restaurant staff were amazing and so friendly. The pool staff also could not do enough with assisting us with the sunbeds especially Milen who even came in on his days off to assist when they were short staffed. All in all a wonderful holiday and I would definitely recommend!

The best hotel I have stayed in. We usually don't go to 5 star hotels because of the price. This time we arrived as 3 couples without the children and decided to treat ourselves. From the first moment we were impressed by the service at the reception which was exceptional, quick, decisive and of high quality. Even though we arrived early in the morning they brought us the rooms. The hotel, the dining room, the restaurants in the hotel, the pool, the atmosphere, everything was at the highest level. We were delighted. The vacation we took was pleasant and relaxing mainly because of this wonderful hotel. It is not a cheap hotel, but worth the price. There is only one problem in the garden, I am giving it a grade, it is the water pressure in the tongs and the fact that the shower is inside a bathtub.

A very beautiful hotel, we stayed there three couples for three nights, half board. We enjoyed the level of hospitality, the view from the room balcony, the outdoor pool and especially the spa area. The spa has an indoor pool heated to 28 degrees, an excellent jacuzzi, a dry sauna and a wet sauna. The hotel is clean and well-maintained, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very good. Next to the hotel there is a beautiful promenade that is fun to walk on or run for those who prefer running. The price was also excellent but the hotel's location is not so good since is a bit far from the center. That's why my score is 9.7
