The One Monumental Palace

“The friendly service starts when they email for details to get you ready for your stay. They remembered all our requests as well as welcoming us with delicious treats in our room. Piedro (?) at the front door was most helpful and friendly of them all. Having a breakfast buffet and a menu of choices daily was delicious and I looked forward to it every morning. The sauna and pool was such a wonderful, relaxing escape after a long day of exploring the charming city of Porto. Lastly, the location can't be any better as it was walkable to all the major sites and pretty much all of Porto.”

“Nice room, but not a five-star experience We stayed at The One Monumental Palace Porto through LHW and left disappointed. The room was nice and the plaza view was beautiful, but the service and amenities did not feel like a true five-star hotel. * Check-in was disorganized. Staff did not understand or recognize LHW Sterling benefits, seemed unclear on our room type/charges, and kept us waiting while our toddler was melting down. * No one was outside to help with bags on arrival. I had to go inside to request assistance. * Sterling benefits were not proactively honored. Late checkout was only accommodated after I pushed and specifically referenced status. * Babysitting through the concierge felt haphazard. No intake, no questions about our child, no information about the sitter in advance, and the sitter was not well suited for an energetic two-year-old. * No room-service breakfast, which was surprising for a hotel at this level. * Fitness center was tiny: cardio and light weights only, no real strength-training setup. * Bar was quiet and lacked atmosphere. Bottom line: nice property and good views, but the experience felt much closer to a four-star hotel. Not what I expected from a five-star LHW stay.”

“What a wonderful experience! From the time we pulled up in front of the hotel we were treated like a king and queen! Everyone who worked there was amazing and very accommodating. They took care of anything you could possibly want or need. Great recommendations for restaurants and places to see. The restaurants in the hotel were five star. The gym, spa and pool were very nice and clean and the breakfast was great! Everything was within walking distance that we wanted to see. We had so much fun with everyone that worked there we were sad to have to leave. As far as we were concerned a five star didn’t do it justice. We will definitely be back!”

“This is the single best experience we have had with a hotel. We were only in Porto for 2 nights, but the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and taken care of. It was our ten year anniversary and the staffs attention to detail truly made it a special occasion. Greatly appreciated everything, from the service to the cleanliness, to the spa, and the breakfast boxes they made available when we had to check out in the early morning for our flight! I can't recommend this hotel enough, incredible experience!”

“The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, with service daily to refill waters and clean the room. Location is great for experiencing Porto with easy walkability and access to the metro. The Spa was also amazing, providing an exclusive feel with a fair price. This is now my go-to spot for staying in Porto.”
