Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews
By Axel Hernborg · Updated 29 August 2026 · How we review hotels
Guests score it 8.8 out of 10 — the average across the 13 hotels we list in Amsterdam is 9.
What Guests Loved
- The extensive wellness area features a full-service spa, sauna, and an indoor swimming pool, offering a rare, tranquil sanctuary in the heart of the busy capital.
- From morning breakfast to evening cocktails and traditional high tea, the on-site culinary options cater to diverse palates without requiring guests to leave the property.
Things to Consider
- Private parking is available on-site but comes at a premium cost, though the central location makes public transport and walking highly viable alternatives.
- Being in the city center means surrounding streets can be lively, but high-quality in-room soundproofing successfully minimizes most external noise.

Reviews from Google“I was disappointed with the service I received from one of the reception staff members, Nicholas, during check-in. I had informed the hotel in advance that I would be arriving early after an overnight flight. When I arrived, Nicholas told me that my room was not ready, that official check-in was at 3 PM, and that he had no idea when my room would become available. He did not offer any alternatives, suggestions, or information about where I could comfortably wait. What made the experience more unpleasant was his attitude toward me. He appeared cold, dismissive, and uninterested in helping, while interacting in a much warmer and friendlier manner with other guests, particularly older guests and men. After waiting in the lobby for about 20 minutes, I approached another receptionist, who was extremely kind and helpful. I explained my situation, and she immediately offered me access to the spa while I waited. Within five minutes, she informed me that my room had actually already been ready. This left me genuinely confused. Either I was given incorrect information initially, or I was not informed that my room was available when it already was. In either case, the situation could have been handled much more professionally. I would like to sincerely thank the female receptionist for her kindness, empathy, and excellent customer service. Unfortunately, my interaction with Nicholas left me feeling unwelcome and undervalued as a guest.”
“Of all the incredible Rosewood Hotels we’ve experienced worldwide, Rosewood Amsterdam has officially taken our hearts. 🖤 This majestic hotel is beautifully located and offers a truly magnificent experience from arrival to departure. Every single element, the flawless pre-arrival service, the stunning spa, the exceptional breakfast, and the all-day dining was perfection. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire staff for making us feel so welcome. A very special shoutout to Stan at the front desk and the brilliant reservation and concierge teams for orchestrating such a flawless voyage. A big thank you to the housekeeping team as well, who kept our room pristine and made us feel so incredibly pampered throughout our stay. Thank you all for an unforgettable stay!”
“The toilets flush the other way around (literally), let me explain: Where every other hotel is heading, just imagine, rosewood is doing it differently. Of course there are similarities but nobody other brand will welcome you like the rosewood. The Portier is talkative and friendly, the staff do the outmost to let you feel comfortable with their bespoke service, as unique as the art collection of the hotel. I would say it’s heartwarming professional. So where others tend to maximize the hard facts, rosewood Amsterdam are brilliant in doing things differently. So it is not to my surprise, that the toilets flush the other way around.”
“We were fortunate to have a wonderful 5 night stay at the Rosewood Amsterdam. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location...easy to walk to many different areas and very close to the tram. The concierge team helped us plan our transfers and daily walking tours and everything was smooth and flawless. The food options throughout (in-room dining, The Court, and Eeuwen) were solid. Cannot recommend this hotel enough! One thing to be mindful of when booking: if you are not a fan of stairs make sure to speak with someone about the type of room you book. Our room, a grand premier canal view room, was beautiful, but was on 3 separate floors with very narrow steps. Small entryway on the first floor, bedroom on the second, and bathroom on the third. There is also a small step up into the shower and the toilet room. We were not made aware of this when booking. We managed just fine, but may have selected a different room had we known about this in advance.”
“We visited the hotel for a brunch. We have told that the hotel guests have the priority for the tables - totally understandable. They asked us to wait without no estimated waiting time. Everyone seemed very confused about where to wait ,what to do, what to expect. We waited for 45 minutes. The servant said we can take the empty table after cleaning. We waited for 15 more minutes. He led another couple to that table. When I asked he was very defensive for a servant (especially one working for such a luxury hotel) and said rudely that he already told us guests have priority. This is not to manage a hotel and definitely not to deal with customer relationships. He could have just said that today is a busy day so the realistic expectation is to wait for few hours. Then we would just say thanks and leave in peace. Instead it costed us 1 hour and a rude behaviour of a very junior servants who had no idea how to deal with hospitality business.”
