“A Perfect Silver Anniversary Celebration at Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park We arrived at Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park on Friday, May 8th, to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in a romantic setting. From the moment we stepped through the doors until the moment we checked out, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Our experience began with a warm welcome from a wonderful young lady at the reception desk. She escorted us to the living room, where we were offered a delicious cup of coffee while she explained the hotel facilities and the surrounding area. She then personally accompanied us to our room, where our first surprise was waiting. The room had been beautifully prepared for our anniversary. We were greeted by a large "Happy Anniversary" balloon, a wonderful bottle of champagne, a delicious pastry, and a very thoughtful handwritten card from the hotel team. It was such a warm and personal touch that immediately made our celebration feel special. We were also delighted with our room itself. It was spacious, elegant, and beautifully decorated, creating the perfect atmosphere for such a special occasion. The bathroom was equally impressive and equipped with every luxury one could wish for, making our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. At 5:00 PM, we were invited to the cocktail bar, where we enjoyed an excellent complimentary cocktail. Afterwards, we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, VanOost. The entire dining experience was outstanding. The flavors were exceptional, and the wines were perfectly paired with each course. When we returned to our room later that evening, another surprise awaited us. The room had been transformed into a romantic setting with beautiful electric candles and rose petals scattered throughout. It was absolutely magical. The next morning, we were welcomed in the breakfast room like royalty and congratulated once again on our anniversary. Moments like these truly make guests feel valued and appreciated. While discussing our plans to visit the Rijksmuseum, one of the waitresses overheard us and kindly explained exactly how to get there. That is what I call service with a smile. Throughout our stay, everything was spotless, elegant, and well-maintained. Most importantly, every member of staff was friendly, professional, and eager to help. We would especially like to thank the concierge, Stefan, whose dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail helped make our anniversary weekend truly unforgettable. He played an important role in ensuring that every aspect of our stay was special. We will certainly return to this wonderful hotel in the future and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious, welcoming, and memorable stay in Amsterdam. “We loved our stay at Pillows. The setting is beautiful - gorgeous old building, elegant and tasteful inside, and sitting on a much larger park than I expected. We stayed in Spring and it couldn’t have been a prettier, more peaceful setting. The room was pretty faultless. Beautiful quality, clean, smelt good, dark at night, quiet, comfy bed, lots of natural light, pretty outlook, good airflow, immaculate bathroom, lovely Diptyque products and a really nice style. Honestly the only thing we could find that compared poorly to other hotels we stayed in was no heated toilet seat - so yes, we were really down to tiny details. The service in the hotel itself was warm and genuine. The restaurant was a little more mixed. The food was delicious, and the setting, style and atmosphere were exactly what you’d hope for, but we did feel forgotten about a few times and the service wasn’t particularly attentive. Our only other feedback was around a couple of inclusions that felt a little strange at this level. The Living Room is a beautiful space and we really enjoyed spending time there, but the honesty system with the coffee machine felt a bit odd - I think the hotel would get more kudos for simply including the coffee for guests. Likewise, paying extra for the sauna felt a little surprising, particularly as it was quite expensive and none of the other hotels we stayed in on this trip, in a similar price range, charged for sauna access. The location isn’t right in the thick of things, which we actually preferred. It felt peaceful and restful, but still really easy to get around with the tram stop so close by. Overall it was a very beautiful, calm and comfortable hotel to come back to between busy days out.”

“This hotel truly exceeded all of my expectations. The location is fantastic—well connected and perfectly situated for exploring the area. The building itself is a beautifully restored historic property, renovated and designed to the highest standards, which gives the entire stay a unique and elegant atmosphere. However, what impressed me the most was the service. It is truly on another level. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel genuinely special throughout my stay. Their attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism made all the difference. I would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional experience.”

“The rooms are clean, room service comes throughout the day. If you do not want them to visit while you are inside, use the do not disturb button. The A/C during the heat wave saved us. It was really cool in the room. There were also little touches like a lovely pillow spray to use while you are there and presumably to take home after. The sleep we had was amazing as well, rivaled what we get at home, so they are top notch with regards to ensuring you get sleep. Every morning, at breakfast, they would ask if we were getting good sleep. I was impressed. Also, room service food comes from their cafe on the bottom floor and delivered great food whether it was brought up to the room or eaten at the cafe. As we stayed for a while, my view in the cafe during breakfast or dinner let me watch the chefs work. It was fantastic to watch the care they put in every dish. The location is also great as it opens up to the public park through its own gardens. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and experience to have while visiting Amsterdam, especially during a record breaking heat wave.”
