What Guests Loved
- Situated directly on the white sands of Boa Vista, the property allows for an immediate transition from guest rooms to the Atlantic coastline. The surrounding dunes provide a quiet landscape for morning walks and unobstructed ocean viewing.
- Select guest rooms feature private pools or direct access to shared swim-up channels, offering a more secluded aquatic experience. This design provides a tranquil alternative to the main communal pool areas for those seeking privacy.
Things to Consider
- As a popular all-inclusive destination, the pool areas and communal spaces can feel bustling during school holidays or peak winter months. Guests seeking a quieter atmosphere may prefer visiting during the shoulder seasons of spring or autumn.
- The hotel’s secluded beachfront location means there are few independent restaurants or shops nearby. Visitors wishing to explore Cape Verdean culture outside the resort will need to arrange for a taxi or shuttle to reach Sal Rei.

“Just came back from here, island is buzzing because of Cape Verde's exploits in the World Cup. 🏴🤝🇨🇻 Bit nervous about food reviews but food was great, nothing to worry about, what a beautiful place. Not too busy or crowded, went in June and didn't see one mosquito. How good is that!? Had a swim up pool which was fantastic, but the main pools were not too crowded at all so it wouldn't have mattered if we didn't have one. Loved the pool bars. Entertainment was great, football in the Sports Bar when World Cup was on. Wanted a quiet room and we were in 4900=4909 block which was lovely. Besch was near and beautiful, had the water park to ourselves. Lots of taxis outside didn't bother with Airport transfers. Didn't bother with Sal Rei as hotel and beaches were too nice to leave. A return cab to Santa Monica is $50 return and the driver will wait a couple of hours for you. NO STRESS.”

“Holiday started great, first in the queue to check in, room was ready so check in was quick. Room was very spacious but we immediately asked for bed sheets to be changed, visibly dirty around the bottom which were changed with no fuss. Room was well stocked with drinks (both alcohol and soft drinks). We did pay for a room upgrade so not sure if that was standard. Our room had a plunge pool which we used often. Fantastic room 👌 Grounds are very spacious and clean. Main pools were very busy and crowded which was the same with evening entertainment. You needed to book quickly if you want to use one of the restaurants. We used the steak house once which was a welcome break from the buffet which has plenty variety but repetitive. All good though. Located minutes from the airport but you hear or see no air traffic. Sat right on a glorious beach but there is literally nothing around. A short walk to the left down the beach takes you to a lovely beach fronted restaurant (look out for a chimney stack) and a €10 taxi will take you to the town - not so much there though. Staff and people who live on the island are very welcoming, lovely people. The gym needs updating is my only negative feedback! A place I would return.”

“This was our second visit to the Rui Palace and we were not disappointed. Flight and transfer brilliant ( we took a taxi to the hotel ). Check in seemless and staff on reception very welcoming. We had 2 rooms booked but as arrived at lunchtime only one ready which was fine. Good information given about when second room available. We had requested nearby , first floor rooms - and that is exactly what we got. Room spacious and spotless. This is a great place just to kick back and relax. The hotel has 3 lovely pools and a gorgeous beach. We loved the entertainment around the pool and actively participated in Aquafit and bingo ! The quality of restaurants and food is great. We particularly loved the Fusion cuisine restaurant Everywhere is very clean and after all the negativity about problems in Cape Verde we were very reassured What really makes this hotel stand out are the staff. Everyone is just so lovely, welcoming and helpful. Special shout out to Damila who made us laugh every breakfast - I think we made her laugh sometimes ! Big praise also to Junior, Vanessa and Mr Precious for keeping us entertained ! Keep doing what you are doing Hope to see you next year Jo”

“Probably one of the nicest place we've ever stayed. Everyone and everything spotlessly clean. The food was amazing with lots of choice and variety everyday. Only 5 minutes from the airport but there's no airport/plane noise over the resort. Beautiful sandy beach, 3 pools and a splashpark. Lots of sun loungers by the pools and on the beach, a paddling pool and play park by the kids club.”

“Stayed at this hotel for the 5th time in 3 years, our most recent being 24th April 2026 for 11 nights. This hotel is by far the best in Boa Vista and Sal. We have stayed in 2 other 5 star hotels but this one nevers disappoints. The room we had 2120 was cleaned daily ,bedding and towels changed regularly .We had a large balcony and great views of the sea and the harbour in the distance. The food is freshly cooked by chefs in attendance in the restaurant Africa ,and so well presented and fresh. The drinks in the swim up bars are superior to normal hotel provision, great range of cocktails and hot drinks made from scratch . The pools and grounds are beautiful and tended by the gardening / technical staff daily . It's also so safe as security staff are present but inconspicuous. The entertainment is a bit samey of an evening ,could do with bringing in professional acts ,especially bands and singers. But a really nice touch was the saxophonist and the lead guitarist ,who played outside on 3 afternoons in one of the beach bars for the pool and bar users. But the biggest assett is the staff ,they are all so attentive, respectful and are always smiling.the bar staff are also so much fun ,engaging with people and acknowledging everyone,to include the children who wave or do high fives at them . There is also duty managers about ,especially at lunch and tea time , who circulate and ask guests for feedback. This hotel is the best in Cape Verde ,and we have booked already for September. Keep up the excellent work and many thanks for yet another memorable and exceptional holiday .”
