The 30-second verdict
What Guests Loved
- Originally opened in 1926, the property maintains its historical integrity through preserved tilework and grand common spaces, offering an atmosphere that reflects the city's early 20th-century prestige.
- Located just steps from the sand, the hotel serves as a quiet coastal enclave while remaining connected to the Paseo del Parque and the vibrant Mediterranean waterfront.
Things to Consider
- The main outdoor swimming pool is restricted to seasonal use, meaning guests visiting in late autumn or winter will have to rely on the indoor spa facilities for swimming.
- Secure on-site parking is available but carries a daily premium, which is a common logistical consideration for central Málaga properties where street parking is highly restricted.

Reviews from Google“Just had four days here with my wife for her 50th birthday. Whilst we are not regular travellers, we have experienced many hotels around the world and this is the most stunning and beautiful hotel of them all. It’s rated as a five star and I can confirm it offers five star luxury. We had a luxurious Deluxe suite which was impeccable and furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings. Every member of staff we encountered were exceptional, friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The pool and outdoor areas are well kept and maintained. If you haven’t been to Malaga before (like us) I would highly recommend due to its vast array of cultural indulgences, bars and restaurants. It also feels safe and like the hotel, well maintained. Can’t rate this hotel and the staff high enough. Top class all round.”
“If you're heading to Malaga and want a slice of luxury, this is the only place to stay. We stayed at Gran Hotel Miramar for 4 days and honestly, everything was perfect from start to finish. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed with a glass of cava, we knew we were in for a special stay. The pool area was fantastic, with plenty of sunbeds and never feeling overcrowded. Having a private section of the beach directly opposite the hotel was a huge bonus, making it so easy to switch between the pool and the sea. The breakfast was outstanding, with a huge selection of delicious, high quality food every morning. The rooftop bar was another highlight, offering incredible views and the perfect setting for evening drinks. Most importantly, every single member of staff was warm, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Their service really made the stay feel five-star. For a couple looking for a relaxing, luxurious short break, we genuinely couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely be back.”
“Staff were absolutely amazing. Professional, pro-active and very friendly. Food was fantastic in all restaurants. Breakfast was delicious (for someone who eats pork, gluten and dairy free). I ate mainly fruit, porridge and lettuce/spinach. Pool area was very clean. All facilities are worth visiting. Valet parking top notch. Plenty to enjoy. Superb architecture and decorative features. We felt very relaxed and well cared for. A huge thank you to all who made our stay so wonderful and memorable. Cannot recommend enough.”
“What a beautiful hotel! You arrive through the small park to the impressive entrance, and from that moment on, you are met with friendly service throughout the entire hotel. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable, with complimentary coffee and water. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a wide and varied selection. There is also a wonderful lunch restaurant by the pool area. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight, offering great drinks and stunning views of the sea. This is our second time staying at the hotel, and we will definitely be back!”
“Everything was excellent: the facilities, the service, the food, and the overall vibe, but there were a few minor glitches that did affect the stay. We could not get an internet connection in our room. We asked for assistance twice, were ignored the first time, then told later that it was a problem with iPhone compatibility. This is a poor excuse since iPhones are perfectly compatible with all internet providers and make up 30% of all phone users in Spain. Frankly, this was rather an unforgivable faux pas for a five-star hotel. The food was a bit overpriced, too, especially the breakfast at 33 Euros per person, but the quality of what I ate was excellent. The spa was amazing. A bit pricey at 60 Euros PER PERSON PER HOUR!!! especially for Spanish price standards, but it was a very enjoyable environment, super clean, and very well equipped. The staff was very friendly. The location couldn't be beat. I'd come back.”
