Tripplo's verdict, based on guest reviews

By Axel Hernborg · Updated 23 August 2026 · How we review hotels

Doryssa Seaside Resort is best for travellers seeking proximity to historical Pythagoreio sites alongside a sheltered beachfront. It holds a Google rating of 4.4 from 1471 reviews and a booking score of 9.4 from 542 reviews. Standout features include its village-style architecture built with sustainable materials and a selection of six on-site restaurants. However, guests should note that central areas can experience high occupancy, and there is occasional noise from the nearby airport.

Located on the southern coast of Samos, Doryssa Seaside Resort blends traditional village architecture with a commitment to sustainable materials. Its sheltered beach and proximity to the historical port of Pythagoreio make it a versatile choice for travelers seeking both relaxation and cultural exploration.
  • The resort occupies a long stretch of sandy coastline naturally protected from prevailing winds. This creates calm waters for swimming and sunbathing throughout the summer season.
  • The property utilizes environmentally friendly materials and pure linen upholstery to create a minimalist aesthetic. Its design mirrors a traditional Samian village, blending modern sustainability with local heritage.

Great location for going into the lovely town of Pythagorio. It’s a 13 minute walk to the town or a 5 euro taxi ride which the hotel can organise for you. Lovely sea view rooms at the hotel and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of sun free sun loungers on the beach with drinks & food service to your loungers. Nice places to eat right on the beach.. the pizza restaurant is a must visit.. Breakfast is lovely and great location for sitting outside with views of the sea. Only slight down side is that you are on the flight path for take off from the airport.. c15 flights a day but the noise is over in seconds.. No night time flights so your sleep is not disturbed.

Beautiful property, but service does not match the price We are staying at Doryssa Seaside Resort expecting a 5-star experience to match the rates, but the service fell far short. Room issues: The TV in our room didn’t work for the entire stay. We reported it five times and never received a fix or even an apology. One of the showers had no hot water — also reported, also ignored. Constant water and pipe noise from the bathroom, day and night. In the middle of the night you may wake up to screaming pipes, get used to it. There was no room service information anywhere in the room, so we had no idea what was even available. Staff: Reception is staffed mostly by young employees who seem indifferent at best, and outright rude at worst — attitude included at no extra charge. Poolside service was actually good and one of the few bright spots. The beach was the opposite: no staff assistance, towels are self-serve from a station that’s often empty, and when we asked, staff simply repeated “there are no towels” with zero effort to help. Bottom line: The grounds, buildings, and village setting are genuinely lovely — that part earns real praise. But you’ll spend your stay chasing people down for basic needs, and nobody seems to care. For what they charge per night, this is not a 5-star experience.

10 stars!!! My favourite holiday spot ever. I never return to the same hotel, I'll be going back here. The breakfasts are buffet style but freshly cooked options and a massive variety. The staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly, from the reception staff, porters, bar and waiting staff, honestly, they make you feel special. The village part of the hotel is incredible. Never seen a hotel like it with a full replica of a village square. It felt a bit magical to be honest. Loved it all

Great location. Just a few minutes from the airport. Wonderful beach, just a short taxi ride to the main town or a 15 minute walk the Room was OK with very large comfy bed although the shower flooded if you where not quick. Only supplied 2 coffee pods in the room on day of arrival and was told they don't supply them any other day although our friends where supplied them in their room. Small gripes but they do impact on the overall experience. Breakfast was OK but don't expect a full English. Beach was superb. Overall we had a nice stay.

Really friendly and good personnel. Clean and nice room, the whole facility is clean and feels like a little village. Close to the city of Pythagorio, 15 min walk or 5 euro if you take a cab. Great breakfast as well. The only thing that felt a little bit of, was the beach at the hotel. Expensive and the staff working at the beach weren’t really as friendly as the rest of the staff.
